Elon Musk Wants To Create A Rocket To Get You Anywhere On Earth Within One Hour

Elon Musk has a number of projects he’s working on. There’s the hyperloop, and getting someone to Mars, and of course, making constant improvements to Tesla. On  Thursday, SpaceX announced a new goal: They want people to be able to travel anywhere in the world in under 60 minutes.

Obviously, that is a monumental task and we’re still very far away from that being a reality. To tide us over, SpaceX and Elon Musk have both shared a video to explain how they think this would work.

The idea is to first have people travel out into the ocean, or similarly large body of water, and board a rocket. While in the atmosphere, the rocket separates and travels to a new city, traveling at a max speed of 27,000 km per hour.

In the example above, air travel between New York and Shanghai would only take 39 minutes. Using traditional air travel today, that flight would take 15 hours so this is obviously quite the difference.

Needless to say, people are already excited.

But, of course, the jokes are already rolling in.

There’s no real time table for the BFR yet, so we’re all going to have to wait a little longer before we never have to wait again.

White House Reportedly Lacked Plans To Help Puerto Rico, According To Activist

Donald Trump’s been coming under a lot of criticism for his administration’s reaction, or lack thereof, to Puerto Rico in the wake of Hurricane Maria. While the Trump administration claims that their aid efforts are going well, many on the island feel that it is too little too late. Many feel that Trump’s words on Puerto Rico’s debt and weak infrastructure were ill-timed:

Probably not the best time to remind the islands that they don’t have the best infrastructure and they owe people money while people are dying, you know? Singer Marc Anthony had some very blunt words for Trump’s priorities in the wake of the hurricane.

Singer-songwriter and political activist, Holly O’Reilly, alleges that she spoke with a “vetted source” about the White House’s response to Hurricane Maria and its plans to help Puerto Rico in the aftermath of the storm’s destruction. While this source has not been verified, according to what O’Reilly shares, it suggests that there really weren’t many plans to help the island in the first place.

She divulged all of her alleged findings in a series of tweets.

What’s worse is that the number of people who’ve died due to Hurricane Maria isn’t being properly reported as of yet, which suggests that the severity of the situation in Puerto Rico is being downplayed.

People started sharing their own horror stories of what their family and friends are experiencing on the island.

Others pointed out that when aid finally did arrive, the logistics surrounding the distribution of life saving supplies were apparently a mess.

Do you think the White House showed favoritism in its disaster relief efforts between Florida, Texas, and Puerto Rico?

These Are All The 'Clinton Scandals' The Trumps May Now Be In Trouble For

In some kind of ultimate pot-calling-the-kettle-black turn of events, the Trump administration has been suspected of a growing laundry list of the same scandals that they’ve been hounding the Clintons for.

The most recent revelation is that Jared Kushner, along with at least five other current and former Trump administration members, including Steve Bannon and Ivanka Trump, have used private emails to conduct White House business.

The Daily Show‘s Trevor Noah noted the irony in his show on Tuesday, saying, “Private emails, working with Goldman Sachs, being shady with foundation money. I wouldn’t be shocked if we find out that they were also wearing pantsuits in secret.”

Noah also suggested that, in return, perhaps Hillary Clinton could adopt some of the things Trump has done:”She’s gotta start being racist to Mexicans, start sending out tweets at 3AM, and since Trump got to grab women by the p*ssy, Hillary gets to go around America yanking dudes by the d*ck.”

Here’s a clip of the segment:

Noah is on point as always.

Girl Gets Added To Soccer Mom Group Chat And Can't Stop Trolling Them

Sometimes the best things in life happen when you just ride the wave. Obviously this doesn’t apply to every situation. Like when a ship’s sinking and you need to get off and find a lifeboat, maybe it’s best if you stop engorging yourself at the seafood buffet and focus on saving your life.

But other times in life, there’s tons of fun to be had by just saying yes to a situation. Would you like fries with that? Yes. Would you like to come out tonight instead of staying in and browsing memes all night? Also yes.

Would you like to pretend like you’re one of the soccer moms on this group chat, despite being added to it accidentally? Well Facebook user Christi Rantis Lally user said yes to this situation and it provided some hilarious results.

Watch all the drama unfold below.

Why aren’t pudding cups acceptable snacks? Is it because you need to eat them with a spoon? Or the sugar content??

Woman Complains That She's Allergic To Dogs On Flight, Gets Removed From Plane

Well Southwest airlines recently removed a passenger from its plane, but for an entirely different reason: because she said she was deathly allergic to dogs.

The trouble is, she allegedly didn’t have an allergy card to prove her claim. After speaking with law enforcement officers and refusing to leave the airline, she was forcefully removed.

CBS reported that the man who recorded the scuffle, Bill Dumas, said the officers “spent a long time talking to the woman” before finally removing her from the flight.

For the most part, people on Twitter are siding with the airline and/or the two dogs, one of which was a service animal, as the woman had allegedly complained about them and wanted them off the flight before she was eventually taken off the plane.

Others couldn’t believe that the folks at Southwest “picked” dogs over human beings.

Others don’t know why she resisted in the first place.

While others suggested that this was probably the best case scenario for the removed passenger.

Southwest released the following statement, explaining, “We are disheartened by the way this situation unfolded and the Customer’s removal by local law enforcement officers. We publicly offer our apologies to this Customer for her experience and we will be contacting her directly to address her concerns.”

What do you think? Was it excessive to take her off the plane?

This Mom Was Not Allowed To Breastfeed In Public At Her Friend's Wedding

The Facebook group Breastfeeding Mama Talk included a post in which someone shared a wedding invitation which asked that attending breastfeeding mothers only feed their children in the bathrooms. And immediately the internet wondered why that was anyone’s business.

“To all our mommies who are breastfeeding, we are thinking of you; we are sensitive to the fact you may need to breastfeed during our event, therefore we have designated an appropriate place for you to feed your baby so that you do not have to do so in public in front of our Family and Friends,” the note reads—emphasis theirs. “For your convenience we our accommodating you with a comfortable and private area with chairs and baby blankets in the ladies room. We request that you use this area when you are breastfeeding. Thank you.”

Yup, I’m sure it’s for the moms convenience. Anyway, the confused guest turned to the group for advice.

“This was in the invitation to my husband’s best friends wedding,” the mom wrote. “My husband is the best man so it will just be me in the crowd. We have had several arguments over ‘my’ breastfeeding ways and they have multiple times voiced that I need to go elsewhere to do that in ‘private!’ I was going to just be nice and let my best girl friend watch my two kids (ages 2 and 3 months) and she would wet nurse my youngest (she’s still nursing her 2 year old as well) because we haven’t found a bottle my youngest will take yet and wet nursing doesn’t bother me. Hubby and I were just gonna make it a date night… But apparently that wasn’t okay either. so I said would just bring my littlest baby to the wedding then, but no way in hell I will leave and nurse her in the bathroom (no matter how ‘nice’ they make it!) I don’t eat in the bathroom I’m not feeding my child in there!… I want to be ‘nice’ as possible but what should I do!? Go ahead and leave her with my friend (who by the way has nursed her multiple times) or take her!? Help!”

She ended up leaving her kids with her friend, according to Breastfeeding Mama Talk, even though most of the moms there said they would have probably just said “screw it” and stayed home. Personally, I’m not sure I’d be friends with someone who was THAT offended by the sight of me feeding my kid.

The New 'Star Trek' TV Series Just Debuted, And Viewers Have Strong Opinions

The hotly anticipated Star Trek: Discovery kicked off on Sunday night with a two-episode premiere. The show’s very presence has been divisive for fans, some of whom took issue with the diverse casting of the lead roles, with Michelle Yeoh playing the Starship captain and Sonequa Martin-Green as her first officer. There was also the whole confusing about people paying “extra” for Netflix or CBS All Access to get to the show, though people do pay “extra” for HBO and basically most of the channels on television.

But the response from fans has been largely positive. Many are thrilled to see some diversity on their screens and exploring space:

Others think it just looks gorgeous:

But some people are still resistant to change, or are withholding judgement for the full series to come out:

But everyone should be able to admit that the producers understand their audience on a couple important levels, at least:

Megyn Kelly Premiered On 'Today' This Morning And People Weren't Having It

This morning, Megyn Kelly—formerly of Fox, but of course, after her breakout 2016, you probably know that—began her debut hosting an hour of the Today show. She talked to the stars of Will and Grace, as well as fellow Today anchor Kathie Lee Gifford, but all their charm combined apparently wasn’t enough to save her from rough initial reviews. And the big question everyone seems to have is: Why are we pretending that the conservative anchor who famously once insisted that Santa Claus was white isn’t political?

Consider how harsh this review of her initial performance was: “The debut was like watching a network try to assemble its own Bride of Frankenstein, using parts of Ellen DeGeneres, Kelly Ripa and whatever else it can find. The resultant lovely creature, dressed in a mauve, pussy-bow blouse and skintight pants, moved stiffly and waved her arms around in broad gestures in a bizarre attempt to generate excitement from an audience that was already standing and cheering as duly instructed. She interviewed people nervously and so awkwardly that they were cowed into giving monosyllabic answers. She also never missed an opportunity to talk about herself.”

That’s not from a blog. That’s from The Washington Post. Time, CNN, and even USA Today had similar reservations.

The big issue is that it might actually be impossible to be apolitical these days. At one point, Kelly asked an audience member, “Is it true you became a lawyer and gay because of Will & Grace?” (As the Post points out, the cast of the show also could not talk about a plot point in the revival involving the Trump administration.)

She also interviewed a white nun working to prevent gun violence on the south side of Chicago, which she called “like a war zone,” according to USA Today‘s review. “Chicago’s gun violence is another issue that’s been politicized, particularly by President Trump, but her focus is on the feel-good aspect of the nun’s ‘Peace Garden,’ and her efforts to bring the mothers of violence victims and perpetrators together. While that serves its own purpose, it doesn’t make the issue entirely apolitical.”

In a revealing interview with Elle, in advance of the episode, Megyn Kelly “stands up and turns toward the door” when the journalist asks her about the president’s treatment of ESPN journalist Jemele Hill. It’s not hard to see how Kelly’s avoidance of “politics” is its own political stance.

Of course, it’s only the premiere episode. Kelly will probably become more natural in her role as the show goes on. But many people feel that if you exist in the world, your existence itself is political. A lot to think about, right?

Ian Somerhalder Says He Threw Out His Wife's Birth Control Pills, And People Weren't Happy

Meet Ian Somerhalder and his wife, Nikki Reed. Cute couple, right?

In July, Reed gave birth to their first child, Bodhi Soleil Reed Somerhalder. How sweet!

On a recent podcast called Dr. Berlin’s Informed Pregnancy, Somerhalder talked about that time he was ready to have a baby but Reed wasn’t sure. Here’s the couple talking to Dr. Berlin and his cohost, a midwife named Blyss Young:

Yeah, Twitter, we know.  This is really messed up:

Not surprisingly, the podcast has been deleted.

OB-GYN Destroys Ivanka Trump For Talking About Post-Partum Depression On Dr. Oz

Ivanka Trump was on theDr. Ozshow talking about her postpartum depression as the Trump administration actively seeks to eliminate reproductive and mental health coverage for millions of women.

An OB-GYN called attention to this conflict of interest on Twitter and everyone agrees with her.

OB/GYN, Veronica Ades really pinned Ivanka on this stunt of hers. She explained why Ivanka talking about this particular issue is so wrong right now.

So many people were happy to see this conflict of interests aired on Twitter.

The doctor had some things to say about Ivanka’s intentions as well.

People were hoping for anyone but Ivanka to make this issue aware to the public because Ivanka won’t stand up for it, she will just whine about it apparently.

We get the message loud and clear Ivanka, you don’t genuinely care to fight for the cause.

This will make it clear to the American people how much they are being played by this administration.
