Some Nerd Got Fouled so Hard in a Game of Basketball, He Actually Called the Cops

There have been a lot of petty people in the news recently calling the cops on folks for doing the most frivolous of things.

image

It seems like there’s a never-ending list of nonsensical reasons people are using as an excuse to call the popo.

But this one definitely has to be one of the nerdiest—because the amount of self-delusion you must live with, along with the gallons of pride you have to swallow in order to carry this out, is purely unfathomable.

A man actually called the cops because he felt he was fouled too hard in a game of basketball.

Yes. The grown man, who can be seen in the black clothes talking to the police above, is trying to explain, with a straight face, that the good-faith rules of the game were violated so harshly that law enforcement needed to be called. That, and the fact that the tax dollars spent on cops’ time, should be devoted to hearing his grievances.

The look on the man’s face in blue pretty much sums it all up.

Twitter user @_togs relayed the events that led up to this ridiculous moment.

image

It all started with a game of basketball. A hard pick (defensive move) sends the man to the floor. It happens all the time, it’s part of the game. You get back up, and if you feel like it was a dirty foul, you speak up about it.

image

This guy, however, got up and threatened to call the cops. Which everyone else probably thought was a joke.

image

Until they realized that no, this man is actually that petty.

image

The man with the sleeves was the individual who set up the screen that sent the dude in black to the floor.

image

When the cops did arrive and address the mess they were presented with, they were clearly not happy to be there.

image

They left without taking any action against anybody (I wonder why) and nothing was resolved. Except for the fact that everyone knows to never play basketball with this dude ever again. God forbid you don’t let him score on you and you’ll have the cops running over to the gym.

image

The worst part is that the foul wasn’t even that bad. Screens are screens—if you bump into someone, you will fall down.

image

People began noticing similarities between his expression and the expressions of other famed petty cop callers.

Someone even captured video of the incident, so you can see the lameness in all its petty glory.

Unbelievable.

Chrissy Teigen Starts Basketball Rumor About LeBron James And It Ends Up Being True

Chrissy Teigen Starts Basketball Rumor About LeBron James And It Ends Up Being True

Chrissy Teigen’s not just a model, TV personality, amazing cook with a penchant for delicious recipes, and Queen of Twitter who shuts trolls down by reminding them of her net worth, she’s also a clairvoyant.

image

Or at least an unintentional one.

Teigen recently became an accidental Nostradamus after tweeting that she wanted to start some basketball rumors

People were immediately interested in whatever trouble she was going to start. Because, knowing Teigen, it would be hilarious. Some got in on the action and served up some suggestions of their own.

Teigen ultimately settled on this extremely improbable one: that she spot LeBron James at an embroidery shop in Los Angeles getting his name put on a Jersey.

Now this was before it was officially announced that “The King” would leave the Cavs to go to another franchise. The league’s top player can have his choice of any team in the NBA and any one would be happy to have him.

Now there was a lot of talk of LeBron going to the Philadelphia 76ers or Boston Celtics…there weren’t many arguing that he’d head to LA. Yet here we are. And Teigen “called it” in a few hilarious tweets. She even provided “proof” of her made-up rumor.

Apparently some people didn’t get the memo beforehand and took Teigen’s claims seriously.

Which Teigen had the perfect response for.

As did many of her followers.

All of the joking was tickling Twitter pink…but it only got better when it was officially announced that James had indeed joined the Lakers.

Now Teigen found herself in an amazing situation: there were a bunch of people who were in on the original joke, and some who honestly thought she had inside knowledge of James’ move to the Lakers.

Which she found absolutely hilarious, of course.

It’s crazy to think that her joke actually came true.

For everyone who honestly thought that Teigen’s tweet wasn’t in jest and LeBron actually went to an embroidery shop…

…bless your hearts.

Ted Cruz Trolls Sports Page That Made Fun Of His Senate Basketball Games

Ted Cruz had it pretty rough when he was fighting to win the GOP primary that ultimately went to Trump. He was constantly ridiculed and was made into several memes, the most popular of which likened him to the Zodiac Killer, up until the moment he admitted defeat.

Memes like this.

And this.

When he lost, he remained defiant and stood up against Trump, who regularly insulted Cruz’s wife and family during the primaries. Just when the internet started showing their approval for a man who refused to debase himself to potentially secure a position if Trump were elected, he came out with a statement in support of Trump, brushing aside the insults and humiliation that the current president subjected him to, and even helped make phone calls to ensure people would come out and vote, which was remixed almost immediately because of how sad he looked in it.

Deadspin is a sports website that reports on literally anything related to sports, and they asked Twitter for pictures of Ted Cruz playing basketball after finding out the senator started holding a weekly basketball game for him and his buddies in senate to help them become better friends, noting that someone said he had a pretty good jumpshot but also terrible, horrible form.

Cruz himself was the first to respond and did so with a photo of Grayson Allen, a Duke basketball star that resembles Cruz enough for thousands of people to have taken notice.

Ted’s prize:

And our reward:

I’ve never met anyone that liked Ted Cruz, but today, the internet loved him, or at least his expert handling of the exchange.

Cruz had better hope that no one takes a photo of another senator dunking on him because Deadspin is more than ready to make a story out of it now.
