Everyone Is Shocked By How Someone Tried To Bargain Down This Wedding Caterer

Artists and writers are used to people undervaluing their work, either because they’re entitled, or they simply don’t comprehend what they’re asking for in terms of labor. But how can you argue over the cost of food? A caterer named Onequa shared a conversation she had with a woman about a proposed wedding meal that shows people are always trying to get more than they deserve for as little as possible.

She shared the screenshot of a text conversation on Twitter, and it starts out normal. The woman she’s speaking with is the god daughter of the woman getting married, apparently stepping in as a wedding planner. She asks for a number of dishes, including an omelette station, wing station, and waffle station for a breakfast/brunch meal. She mentions three different types of fish, too. This lady wants it all!

Onequa very reasonably quotes $ 5,000 for 200 people, which brings all that to down below $ 30 a head. Remember, she is buying all the materials and cooking everything. The woman comes back at her with some insults about her presence on Instagram, then tries to lowball her. It’s wild!

You want all that and cupcakes, too, for $ 2,100! And they’re some good looking cupcakes:

You need to pay for all the flavors, luv.

People are really blown away by how Onequa’s work was undervalued by these women, and they just can’t get over it:

You cannot cater a wedding for “exposure.”

Also, her rate was reasonable??? People with wedding (and math) experience said this woman blew the deal of her life on that wedding buffet:

There were some offered alternatives:

But she was also so rude.

On the bright side, people are loving Onequa’s story so much they’re sending her some pocket cash:

And following her on Instagram and sending messages of support:

So, she didn’t get to cater someone’s last minute wedding. Instead, she gets the support of the Internet for valuing herself. And giving us some hilarious text messages to scream over. That is definitely worth $ 28 a head.

Tomi Lahren Shut Down On Twitter By Florida Shooting Survivor

On Wednesday, a former student of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida, shot 17 people dead and injured 14 more in the deadliest U.S. school shooting since Sandy Hook.

The accused 19-year-old, who was apprehended after apparently fleeing the scene, is believed to have links to a white supremacist group and reportedly commented on a YouTube video last year that he would be a professional “school shooter.” The FBI was made aware of the comment at the time. The teenager was also a concern to school staff, and had been banned from carrying a backpack while on the campus.

In the hours since, social media has, as usual, been a platform for gun reform debate. Especially since the shooting came just short of a year after President Trump rescinded an Obama-era rule aimed at blocking gun sales to certain mentally ill people

In an address to the nation during the aftermath, President Donald Trump said he would discuss policies to make schools safer during a meeting with U.S. governors and attorneys general later this month. He added that “it’s not enough to take actions that make us feel like we are making a difference — we must make that difference.”

Fox News contributor Tomi Lahren appears to be one of those opposing stricter gun laws, accusing the left of politicizing the shooting.

Carly also responded to a tweet by President Donald Trump, in which he offered his “prayers and condolences.”

She also thanked first responders.

Carly also went on to claim that her grandfather had also hidden in a closest during the first mass shooting in U.S. history. In 1949, Howard Barton Unruh killed 13 people in a rampage around his neighborhood. Unruh was found to be criminally insane and died in 2009.

Other students were also quick to respond.

While others responded to President Donald Trump.

Other social media users were also quick to criticize Lahren.

Many parents and students have also taken to social media to share heartbreaking text messages they exchanged during the shooting.

Thankfully in this case, the two were reunited.

What do you think of Lahren’s tweet and the response?

Roy Moore Just Doubled Down On Refusing To Concede, With An Even More Absurd Excuse

On Tuesday, December 12, Republican Roy Moore lost the special election to fill Attorney General Jeff Session’s vacant Senate seat. Senator-elect Doug Jones is the first Democrat Alabama has elected since the early 1990s, in part due to myriad controversies surrounding Moore. Judge Moore has been twice removed from the bench as a result of his defiance of federal rulings. Just last year, he was ousted after ordering probate judges to ignore the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage and  refuse marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

In a move anyone familiar with Moore’s history will find unsurprising, the former candidate is refusing to concede the election to Jones, claiming he is waiting for every ballot to be counted.

Moore is now suggesting voter fraud may have played a role in his loss.

In a December 15 email to his supporters, Moore asked for contributions to his “Election Integrity Fund” and claimed, “this battle is NOT OVER!”

Moore released a video in which he continues his campaign rhetoric while undercutting the results of Tuesday’s election:

Some people predicted this scenario:

Even  Moore’s Republican allies, including President Donald Trump (who went so far as to cut a robo-call in support of the candidate), have said Moore should concede the race.

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said of the loss:

So we have to deal now with another Democrat in the Senate, but Roy Moore lost that election. It’s over. We’ll move on and do the best that we can in the days ahead to continue to move an agenda forward that is good for the American people.

Doug Jones acknowledged on NBC’s Today Show that sometimes it’s difficult to move on from a bitterly fought race, but also said there was “no doubt” in his mind regarding the results of the elections, and that Moore would “do well to go ahead and let’s get this behind us.” The results of the election will be officially certified between December 26 and January 3.

Alabama’s secretary of state, John Merrill, believes it is “highly unlikely” Jones will not be declared the winner.

As Twitter Becomes Obsessed With Meghan Markle's 'Suitability,' J.K. Rowling Shuts It All Down

As the news of Prince Harry’s engagement to actress and entrepreneur Meghan Markle has spread, so have discussions about Markle’s “suitability” as a partner for Harry.

While most agree the entire conversation is distasteful and only Harry can decide who is or is not suitable for him, that didn’t stop conservative British newspaper The Spectator from weighing in on Twitter.

For those not in-the-know, “CofE” is short for the Church of England and, according to tradition, the reigning monarch of England is also the head of the Church. In this case, of course, that would be Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.

But the notion that Markle is somehow “unsuitable” because she has been divorced struck people as a bit off, especially considering the history of the Church of England itself.

I mean…

History buffs weren’t the only ones with questions…

Even J.K. Rowling got in on the discussion, shuttingThe Spectator‘s assertion down with a single hashtag:

And Twitter was so here for it…

We wish Meghan and Harry all the best in their union!

13-Year-Old Girl Brutally Turns Down Boy And Twitter Has A New Hero

Don’t date at a young age. Kids don’t know what romance is, and it’ll all just end in tears. Twitter user Isabella’s 13-year-old sister is one young woman who won’t let boys get in the way of her success. Isabella recently took to Twitter to share a conversation her sister had with a boy.

And it gets absolutely brutal…

Unsurprisingly, people were pretty inspired by this teenager’s savagery.

James Woods Tries To Slam Liberals For Tearing Down Racist Statues—It Didn’t Go So Well

James Woods Tries To Slam Liberals For Tearing Down Racist Statues—It Didn’t Go So Well

The “Ghosts of Mississippi” actor attacked “#liberals” by suggesting the removal of the Iwo Jima World War II memorial.

James Woods is furious over the removal of Confederate statues around the country.

And to express his disgust, the actor, who is well known for his far right politics, suggested on Twitter that liberals may go after the famed Iwo Jima Memorial next.

Cue the Internet, which turned its mocking meme generation to eleven by offering up suggestions of other statues liberals might want to take down. No monument was safe, regardless of what they stood for.

Thank you, James Woods, for giving birth to the “I thought some of you might like to see it one more time…” meme.

Service with a smile? Sorry, Bob’s gotta go.

Wiggling french fries are a disgrace to the food industry.

What’s the point?

The Fonz should not be in bronze.

Too high to get over, too low to get under.

Users also weighed in on the idiocy of the actor’s much maligned tweet.

When one user took to Twitter to defend keeping the statues, he got schooled with some facts.

Some perspective.

This Marine revealed the logical flaw at the heart of Woods’s tweet.

But hey, we’re not out of the “Woods” yet, here’s one last meme for good measure.

An Eleven-Year-Old Boy Once Perfectly Shut Down Donald Trump

The year: 1997. The president: Not Donald Trump.

In an effort to incentivize wealthy New Yorkers to be more philanthropic with their money, Donald Trump was given the chance to be “Principal for a Day” at a public school in the Bronx.

According to a New York Times article, Trump was asked to give a speech for a group of fifth graders at P.S. 70. “Make the speech inspiring, he was asked, something to encourage a group of children whose universe is one of New York City’s most disadvantaged  neighborhoods.”

Trump started off by asking, “First of all, who likes Nike sneakers?”

Naturally, every hand in the room shot up.

“If everybody puts their name on a piece of paper right now, I will pick 15 people and I’ll take you to the new Nike store that I just opened at Trump Tower,” Trump promised.

Apparently for Trump, this was a perfect intro for a speech on the American dream.

“Is there anyone here that doesn’t want to live in a big, beautiful mansion?” he asked. “You know what you have to do to live in a big beautiful mansion?”

“Be rich,” a voice answered.

“That’s right,” Trump said. “You have to work hard, get through school. You have to go out and get a great job, make a lot of money and you live the American dream. And you’re going to have fun doing it. It’s a lot of fun.”

Pretty strong words for a man who inherited a great deal of his wealth from his father.

The excitement in the room, and Trump’s bolstered ego, didn’t last long, however, once he started taking questions from the kids.

Cue 11-year-old Andres Rodriguez, whose father had recently passed away, and whose mother couldn’t work because of a disability.

Not falling for the B.S. Trump was espousing, Rodriguez asked, “Why did you offer us sneakers if you could give us scholarships?”

David MacEnulty, who ran the celebrated chess program at P.S. 70, told The 74 Million that Trump was stumped by the question.

“Trump finally said, ‘I don’t have an answer.’ That’s a direct quote,” MacEnulty said.

Trump’s solution? Give out more Nikes.

To add insult to injury, Trump gave a fake $ 1 million dollar bill to a bake sale that was raising money for the chess team to go to a tournament in Tennessee.

He eventually took it back and replaced it with $ 200, but compared to other wealthy “Principal for a Day” participators, it was chump change.

According to the Times, the chairman of a telephone company had just pledged $ 25,000 to another school in the Bronx the day before, while a high-powered attorney had pledged to raise $ 100,000 to renovate the library at a school in  Manhattan.

Trump’s parting message for the kids was just as depressing:

“Money does not buy happiness, but it helps. Always remember that.”

Why The Fact-Checking Website 'Snopes' Is In Danger Of Shutting Down

Snopes.com—the legendary debunking website devoted to taking down fake news, urban legends, and shadowy conspiracy theories—is in danger of shutting down, resorting to using crowdfunding to keep itself going.

The funding problem, Snopes says, stems from a legal fight with a vendor and co-owner. “[Our] contractual relationship ended earlier this year, but the vendor will not acknowledge the change in contractual status and continues to essentially hold the Snopes.com web site hostage,” the website wrote in a letter to its readers. “Although we maintain editorial control (for now), the vendor will not relinquish the site’s hosting to our control, so we cannot modify the site, develop it, or — most crucially — place advertising on it. The vendor continues to insert their own ads and has been withholding the advertising revenue from us.”

Snopes and this other party, Proper Media, both filed complaints against each other earlier in July, reported Poynter

Now, Snopes is trying to crowdfund $ 500,000 via GoFundMe in order to continue the operation of its site while this legal battle is ongoing. As of this afternoon, the site has raised more than $ 80,000 in donations.

These donations are “intended to help us get through the next several months in the hopes that the legal issues will be largely resolved by then,” said Snopes founder David Mikkelson to Poynter.

Proper Media, however, has lambasted Mikkelson’s account of the site’s legal troubles. “Proper Media suggests that the media conduct its own fact-check of the fundraising plea posted today on Snopes.com,” it said in a statement to Poynter. “First, Proper Media is far more than an “outside vendor” to Bardav, Inc., the company that owns Snopes. In fact, it is a 50% co-owner of Bardav.”

Proper Media further alleged that Mikkelson has “engaged in gross financial, technical, and corporate mismanagement.”

“This case involves unlawful jockeying for ownership and control of the fact-checking website Snopes.com,” said the company’s complaint against Snopes, according to Vice. “But while Snopes is built entirely around the concepts of transparency and truth, its founder, Defendant David Mikkelson, has engaged in a lengthy scheme of concealment and subterfuge to gain control of the company and to drain its profits.”

Ironically, Snopes itself had been the subject of a conspiracy theory by fringe outlets, which claimed that the website was funded by liberal billionaire George Soros in order to slander conservatives. Needless to say, this isn’t true.

Sand Sculptors Roast Chris Christie For Closing Down New Jersey Beaches

His response to people who criticized him for it? That maybe they should “run for governor” to enjoy perks of a state sponsored home on beachfront property. Yes, seriously.

And on July 4th, after the 3-day state shutdown initiated by Christie, two New Jersey sand sculptors decided to commemorate the viral photo of Christie chilling at the beach with this amazing work of sand art.

Complete with a “Beach Closed” sign etched into the side, the lounging Christie sand statue set off a new wave of memes.

The back of the sculpture held a surprise, too.

The attention to detail has to be admired, from the enormous butt-crack, to the masterful capture of Christie’s face when he realized there was a drone snapping photos of him and his family doing something many consider to be extremely unethical.

The sculpture unfortunately didn’t last that long. Hours later, someone had destroyed it and replaced Christie’s upper body with a large smiley face and what looked like a bit of a starfish. Thanks to the Internet though, nothing is ever really gone, and the bloated sand sculpture of the Governor’s latest scandal will forever be recorded in the annals of Internet history.
