Woman Takes Selfies With Every Guy Who Catcalls Her For A Month

Noa Jansma is a 20-year-old student in Amsterdam who has turned the unpleasant and sometimes very scary experience of street harassment into an art project, Bored Panda reports. On her Instagram account @DearCatcallers, Jansma wrote about her intention of taking a selfie with every person who catcalls her as she walks down the street:

Jansma took selfies with the alleged catcallers for the entire month of September, and they are all ages, races, and walks of life. The only thing they really seem to have in common is supposedly exhibiting zero shame in what they’re doing. Some even cozy up to Jansma like they’re friends with her, which is maybe the most unsettling thing of all:

Beginning in 2018, catcalling in the Netherlands can be subject to a find of almost $ 220. It seems like a law that would be difficult to implement, but then again, if cat callers are this bold, Jansma and young women like her will be able to identify their harassers immediately. They’ll have the receipts.

This Rocket-Powered Fidget Spinner Is Every 13-Year-Old's Dream

Every kid in middle school probably has about three fidget spinners by now, but please do not let them do to their fidget spinners what YouTuber The Backyard Scientist did to his: power it by freakin’ rockets.

It’s all truly dangerous fun: again, if you were considering trying this at home, note that this professional maker of cool stuff accidentally shot one of the rockets at his car!

He even manages to get a drone in there, filming it all, in case the 12-year-old child in your life needs to be further convinced of this YouTuber’s prime coolness.

For me, an adult, the whole thing is all a little terrifying, but this guy isn’t a stranger to working with flaming devices. Here he is shooting a propane rifle.

There's Now A Tumblr For Every Contestant From MTV's 'Next'

Lane Moore is a comedian who is famous for her Tumblr collections, like Male Feminists of Instagram. Somewhat obsessed with romance and dating, it seems obvious that she’d be attracted to the early reality TV show Next, a show where sexy singles basically Tinder swiped each other before such a thing existed. Except it was in person. On MTV.

Why would anyone subject themselves to such a situation? Probably so that years later, someone could remind them what their three “interesting” facts about themselves were:

In an email with Distractify, Moore explained why she took on the daunting task of screen-capping all these lonely hearts for her new Tumblr collection, “Hotties of MTV’s Next,”

“I’ve always loved shows like Blind Date and Next so much. I grew up on them. In late 2015, I started rewatching Next obsessively and I’d forgotten how incredible those three facts on there were and started posting some clips on Vine, etc. It was a show I forgot I loved and I wanted to remind others of its joy.

Whoever took that interview with the daters and boiled it down to like ‘loves bees named Gabe, wet himself at his mom’s wedding two years ago, wants kids’ is an unsung hero. I can’t wait to post the like 200 screen caps I have.”

She’s right. They’re glorious.

After reading so many of those in a row, I’m starting to suspect the producers of Next didn’t actually want to help these kids find love! You can watch an episode below and decide if this was all for our entertainment or not:

Woman's Ex Still Sends Loving Birthday Cards To Their Dog Every Year

Woman’s Ex Still Sends Loving Birthday Cards To Their Dog Every Year

I can’t imagine what it would be like to share custody of a child with an ex. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t ever get divorced or split up – as Louis C.K. said, no one’s ever left an amazing relationship just because. That would be horrible.

But I don’t know if I’d be a big enough person to put my pettiness and anger to the side in order to have a mature, separate relationship with my ex for the sake of our children.

Or if I had to share pets with them, either. Because pets are basically fluffier versions of children that you don’t have to start a college fund for, right?

Which is why I admire this girl’s ex so much.

Homeboy still gets their dog a birthday gift card, two years after they’ve broken up.

Just look at this awesomeness.

He even included a touching message in the card.

“Hey Buddy,

Sorry for the late birthday gift. Work has been hectic. So I didn’t get a chance to get you something on time. Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you got spoiled on your special day. I also hope you’re doing well. Knowing you, I’m sure you haven’t slowed down and are just as much of a handful  now as you were when we first got you. Usually this is  the part where I tell you some story of how you got on my nerves like when you chewed up my credit card and then hid it. (I still have that card by the way) or how you did something incredibly adorable or funny like your first ever bath. But to be honest as precious as those memories are to me it’s the little thing I tend to think about the most.

Those times where me and you would just chill on the couch and watch TV. How you would be up every time I got up early in the morning to see me off to work. The play fights we would have together. Those pictures your mom would send me of that absolutely pathetic/adorable face you would make every time as you watched her leave for work. These are the things I will remember the most.

Watching you grow up from a puppy that fit in the palm of my hand to the overgrown big dog that you are now was nothing short of an adventure, and I loved every moment of it. There is honestly not one time where thinking of you has failed to put a smile on my face. I will forever be great grateful to you for that. Thank you. I wasn’t able to get you something for Christmas so I added a little extra to your card. Try not to destroy your new toys too quickly 🙂 I love you, Buddy. There isn’t a day that I don’t think of you. As always, continue to take care of yourself and your mom.

Continue to be  there for her like you were for me.

I miss you Buddy. See you when I see you.

Love, Dad.”

The touching gesture understandably got some serious love from Twitter.

Petco even reached out.

Apollo seems to be digging his adoration as well.

Such a good boy.

Best Buy Employees Buy WiiU For Boy Who Played Theirs Every Day For Two Months

The employees at the Best Buy in Valley Stream, New York, deserve a raise after they all decided to pitch in and buy a WiiU for a boy who came into the store every day for two months to play on their demo console.

Rahiem Storr, the store’s manager, recorded the moment they surprised the boy with a WiiU that they’d purchased with their own money. Uploading the video to YouTube, he explained that the boy “has two very loving parents at home,” but that they couldn’t afford the console.

Storr explained in the comments of the YouTube video that the child lived in a sketch area, so an employee drove him home with his new console and walked him to the door.

“After purchasing the WiiU for him they actually drove him home where his parents were beyond welcoming.”

“Whilst people have some horrible opinions about Best Buy associates I can not begin to express how wrong they actually are. I posted this to show otherwise, can’t tell you how often I give people discounts or children that save money to buy items and come up a few dollars short.”

“We are here to complete people’s lives not take away from it. Been with the company for 10 years now and what our store did is why I continue to stay.”

He also took the opportunity to call out trolls who had been hateful in the comments.

“The trolls I see on here make it hard sometimes as I deal with them in the store on a daily basis however it is what I signed up for and we all work through it.”

“Thank you again everyone. Continue to shop at Best Buy and keep us all employed so that we can continue to do things like this for people day in and out.”

“I know the trolls will eat this comment up and probably say some racist things like I saw on my YouTube however let me say this here it does not bother me one bit. I love everyone even the trolls hope that upsets you even more.”

One commenter went on to explain the boy’s reaction as one “of a young man who hasn’t had a huge amount of good things happen to him.”

Storr also says that any ad revenue raised will be going to refund the employees for their generosity and buy him more games and attachments.

This Japanese 'Library Hotel' Is Every Book Lover's Dream

I’ve never stayed in a themed-hotel, but I think it would be pretty dope to stay in a hotel that caters to something you especially love, like this Spongebob Squarepants vacation home.

But if Bikini Bottom isn’t necessarily your scene, you could always stay at this library hotel in Japan.

bookandbed

Book and Bed is a hostel that’s designed to look exactly like an old-timey library and has been attracting traveling bibliophiles since it opened last year.

bookandbed

It originally opened in Tokyo, but its surge in popularity led its owners to create a second book-hotel in Kyoto.

bookandbed

Bunks are under $ 50 a night and come with a lamp, an outlet, a privacy curtain, and storage space for your personal belongings.

bookandbed

You also have access to a huge selection of books in both English and Japanese, a communal living space, robes, and free WiFi.

bookandbeer

There’s also a cool bar where weary traveler’s can booze up while reading a good book.

bookandbed

The Tokyo location only offers up 12 beds, while the Kyoto hostel, which opens on December 2nd, provides up to 20.

bookandbed

If you’re a book-loving traveler or just want a quiet, homey single-bunk hostel experience on the cheap, you should definitely check it out next time you’re in Japan. (h/t mymodernnet)

This 27-Year-Old Will Become The First Woman To Visit Every Country In The World

Recently, we covered a story about a dude who managed to visit every country in the world before he turned 40 years old. It’s an amazing accomplishment and to think that he basically got his job on board with his decision and he chronicled that amazing journey is a feat in its own.

But there’s a saying and it goes a little something like “girls do it better,” but what are they talking about, exactly?

It could be visiting every country in the world in record time.

Because Cassandra De Pecol has almost visited every single country in the world and she’s only 27 years old. WHAT.

1

She’s on track to become the first female, American, youngest, and fastest traveler on the planet to visit all the world’s 196 countries.

2

She’s already hit up 181 countries and has 40 days to finish out the remaining 15, which the 27-year-old from Connecticut can easily accomplish.

3

She’s calling her trip around the globe Expedition 196. You might be wondering how in the hell she’s able to travel the world and hold down a job.

4

She’s employed as an ambassador for peace with the International Institute for Peace Through Tourism.

5

Her whole life centers around traveling and tourism, along with taking gorgeous photos and posting them to her Instagram account.

6

She also leverages her nearly 68,000 thousand followers for free stays in hotels all over the world.

7

She snaps photos of the exotic venues she stays in and that covers the cost of her rooms. Smart move.

She’s also a fitness enthusiast, triathlete, and entrepreneur.

8

Her trip has cost her almost $ 200,000 so far, but she’s gotten almost all of it covered by sponsors.

9

She’s been able to do some amazing things…like cuddle lion cubs.
13

Go skiing in Colorado – without a coat!

14

Chilling on a beach in Kiribati.

15

And she visited Mostar bridge in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

16

The camera set-up she uses to snap her amazing photos from around the world is small yet powerful.

17

And of course, she has to bring her world map.

18

You can check out more of her adventures on Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and her Website.

This Harry Potter Birthday Party Made Pretty Much Every 'HP' Reference Possible

In a world where ‘Harry Potter’ reigns supreme, it’s not uncommon to have a Harry Potter-themed birthday party. In fact, most 2000s kids have attended at least one party where fake glasses and scars were required. However, not all Wizarding World parties are created equal.

Imgurian  might take the cake (poor pun intended) for the most intricate birthday party that even J.K. Rowling herself would envy. “I’ve never had a surprise birthday party, let alone a Harry Potter themed party,” she wrote. “I’m stationed in Germany and leaving to go back to the US 5 days before my birthday. My friends decided to throw me a birthday party before I leave, and the party they threw was so amazing!”

As any true ‘Harry Potter’ fans will see, “amazing” is actually an understatement.

Guests began by running through platform nine and three-quarters.

“I cried. A lot. I can’t believe they did this all for me. They truly are my family away from home,” she wrote.

We’d cry too… Check out the extravaganza.

Then they hopped on the Hogwarts Express.

Guests came in costume.

That had to have taken some time. Do they even make dark mark flash tats?

All we have to say is: A+ attention to detail.

J.K. Rowling would be proud.

Only question is: how will her friends top this next year?
