People Are Losing It Over Coat Meghan Markle Just Wore To Her First Royal Engagement

Soon-to-be Princess Meghan Markle made a a dazzling debut on the world stage this week.

Prince Harry and his fiancée made their first official appearance together in the UK, meeting a community that is “very special” to the Prince. The couple did their inaugural royal walkabout through Nottingham, then attended a World AIDS Day event.

Markle charmed people with her glowing smile and warm enthusiasm — and her chic coat:

Later, they visited the Nottingham academy, where they watched young actors perform an improvised play about a “fictional” young couple going public with their secret romance. One of the actors, 19-year-old Taynika Jarrett-Bennett, said, “We wanted to make it a fun play and involve the royals.”

And Markle won over the cast when she complimented their performance.

And so a new royal chapter begins. We think Princess Diana would be proud.

Americans Get Their First Look At K-Pop Group BTS–And They Like What They See

If you’re a longtime BTS fan, your hipster moment has finally arrived.

The Korean pop boy band supergroup performed at this year’s AMAs and basically stole the show.

Major media outlets were going gaga for the band’s performance.

And it wasn’t long before people were mimicking their moves, either.

But for fans of the band, who probably got eye-rolls from their pals who “aren’t into K-Pop,” they knew BTS was going to crush it before they ever even took the stage.

Their show also earned them a bunch of new fans as well.

Also Twitter was geeking out over their dance skills.

If you didn’t see their performance you can check it out here:

Boston News Reporter Shares First Photos Of Vegas Terrorist's Arsenal Of Weapons

Las Vegas gunman Stephen Paddock’s horrific act of mass murder has yielded pain, sorrow and many many unanswered questions.

On Tuesday, we got a bit more information, as the first images of the arsenal of weapons assembled by the gunman emerged online.

Jacqui Heinrich, a Boston reporter for FOX 25 TV shared an exclusive first look at some of Paddock’s guns on Twitter:

Since then, more images have trickled out from the horrific scene of the crime:

Reports indicate that at least 23 firearms, some ammo, a bipod, optics, and a hammer — that was most likely used to smash out the windows — were strewn about the luxury room, which towered 32 floors above the concert venue, where 58 innocents died and 489 people were injured.

In addition, authorities recovered 19 firearms plus explosives and several thousand rounds of ammunition from Paddock’s home in Mesquite, Nevada and found several pounds of ammonium nitrate, which is used to make explosives, in Paddock’s car.

Law enforcement officials had hoped to learn more about Paddock’s motives from his girlfriend, Marilou Danley, who has returned from The Philippines and is cooperating with the investigation. In a statement she said that Paddock “never said anything to me, or took any action that I was aware of, that I understood in any way to be a warning that something horrible like this was going to happen.”

“It never occurred to me in any way whatsoever that he was planning violence against anyone.”

Survey Finds The Most Successful First Dates Involve Fried Chicken

If you really want a first date to go well, maybe suggest getting fried chicken together. It might be greasy, but according to a survey by the dating app Hinge, suggesting a fried chicken joint is the restaurant cuisine most likely to lead to a date.

In general, people thought that the best overall date idea was getting drinks. Interestingly, Hinge users particularly loved Bloody Mary’s, though you’d think all that garlic would make it a date drink to avoid! But 24 percent of Hinge users loved the idea of grabbing fried chicken for a first date. Watch out, though, because apparently 23 percent of Hinge users would rather grab vegan food. Hinge users: apparently eclectic!

The app even breaks down the most and least successful locations for a first date by major city—San Francisco daters loved going to Golden Gate Park, for instance, but turned their noses up at the cocktail bar Novela (their loss, it looks really cute).

You can see dating advice for the city near you over at Hinge’s website.

No promises that any of this will result in you getting married, though it did kind of make me want to marry a bucket of fried chicken.

No One Can Solve This Math Question Given To First Graders In Singapore

As if we needed yet another reminder that we’re terrible at math, an exam question given to first graders in Singapore has the Internet scratching their collective heads. “Study the number pattern. Fill in the missing numbers,” the instructions read.

The question is a number problem, with a circle split in four with different numbers in each section. Around the sides are four empty circles, with another circle in the middle of the first circle. The questions asks children to fill in the four circles with no numbers so that they total the middle number in all cases.

First graders are supposed to get this?! In all fairness, it’s labelled as a bonus question and probably doesn’t impact the student’s scores all that much. Think you’ve worked it out? Read on when you have, because the answer is below.

Thankfully for us, one user on the forum was able to work it out. According to their explanation, the four circles should be filled with either 1 or 2, depending on how many numbers with more than one digit they touch on either side.

If you got the answer without cheating, you’re officially as smart as a first grader. If you didn’t, feel better knowing that social media didn’t, either.

Twitter Is Not Impressed By Trump's First Easter Egg Roll In The White House

The Annual Easter Egg Roll is a White House tradition that dates back 138 years and draws some 35,000 visitors to the South Lawn each year. Today is the first Easter Egg Roll since Donald Trump became President, and this led some people to have concerns about the running of the event.

Last week, the New York Times reported that President Donald Trump’s administration seemingly forgot about the annual Easter Egg Roll and didn’t put in an order for eggs for quite some time. The company that makes commemorative eggs for the event had to reach out to the President on Twitter to remind them to place their order.

So, how did it actually go? Judging by these tweets, not very well.

Chrissy Teigen And John Legend’s Baby Said Her First Word And It’s Priceless

An example of a perfect animal is a cat. It’s the internet’s mascot. Their combination of silliness and cuddliness makes them the epitome of animalistic excellence.

An example of a perfect couple is the union of Chrissy Teigen and John Legend. Seriously, they always look like they’re having an amazing time.

And they have a perfect little baby. I mean seriously, just look at Luna chilling with her bulldog right here.

Cheeks for days, my god.

Luna’s approaching her first birthday, and is currently celebrating with Mama Teigen and Papa Legend in Morocco.

The trip is packed with “firsts” for this little ball of adorableness. Like her first time reading a book without pictures.

And the first time she wore a bow.

First bow!

A post shared by chrissy teigen (@chrissyteigen) on

But most exciting of all: Luna’s first word.

Yes, her first word wasn’t “mama,” or “dada,” but “cat.” Well technically “caa”- but still, it’s pretty awesome. Babies are the best, as are cats. Win-win, am I right?

Nationwide Protests Against Trump's 'Muslim Ban' Start Off Their First Day With A Victory

One day after Trump signed his executive order banning all travel from 7 Muslim-majority countries, citizens around the country flooded their local airports to protest and the ACLU was in court to argue that the executive order was unconstitutional and un-American.

Students, green card holders, and people here on work visas were all advised to not leave the country following the executive order, and people who were on airplanes on their way here were told they couldn’t enter once they landed.

This morning, protesters from all over the country flooded their local airports to express their concerns over the detainment of immigrants and refugees that were previously cleared to enter the country.

Governor Cuomo of New York released a statement in support of the protesters and detained refugees that were in JFK Airport.

The largest taxi union in New York City also voiced their concerns with Trump’s Muslim Ban, reminding him that they’ve been on the receiving end of government sponsored bigotry in the past.

Lawyers flooded JFK Airport to help those being detained.

And while the lawyers were hammering away, citizens in other states made sure to make their voices heard at their airports.

And then there was hope.

It’s worth noting that the stay will not affect people who haven’t already made their way here and that anyone planning on traveling is simply going to be prevented from doing so, as this affects people who were already in the air while the order was signed.

Many celebrities voiced their opinion on Trump’s ban, but some of the strongest voices came from Silicon Valley’s tech CEOs.

Airbnb.

Box.

Quip, a Salesforce company.

Slack.

And Twitter, including a tweet from CRO Jack Dorsey and the official Twitter account.

Netflix, Lyft, Uber, Apple, Google, Tesla, and a host of other companies joined in the condemnation of the grossly un-American order issued by Trump, and they have made it clear that they’re in it for the long haul.

Power to the people.

These Parents Did The Best Thing Ever After Their Daughter Got Her First Period

Periods have been stigmatized for all of modern history, and only recently have things started to slide back into the ‘hey this normal and has been happening for as long as we’ve been a species’ mindset.

Heck, even commercials for period products still feature some weird mystery blue fluid in them, because showing even a hint of blood makes many uncomfortable. I mean imagine if they were done this way instead:

Today, when little girls become big girls, they usually get a talk and go shopping for overpriced feminine hygiene products. One family took a different approach.

For Brooke, crossing into womanhood came with cake. Because her big sister posted it online and because this is the internet, it became hugely popular with the masses, to no one’s surprise.

Plenty of folks are warning her of what’s to come, but for now, Brooke seems to be enjoying the temporary internet fame.

Congratulations Brooke’s parents. You’ve just set the bar.

23 Women Share The Worst Things A Guy Did On Their First Date

Going on a first date is one of the most nerve-wrecking experiences imaginable. But imagine for a second that when you get to the restaurant, you quickly realize that the other person is completely insane. The women of Reddit recently decided to share the worst stuff they’ve had to put with guys…

1.

My wife told me this one yesterday, about her older sister on a first date when she was a teen.

The guy asked her to show up wearing red, anything red. She wore a red skirt with red nails. He drove her to a well known make out spot and tried to convince her to dance beside the car while he played “Lady In Red” from the tape deck. As I understand, she wasn’t impressed.

2.

If you’re going to ask a girl about her hobbies, don’t spend the next couple of minutes shitting on her hobbies. The one-up game isn’t nice.

Was on a date just last week actually

“Whats your favorite thing to make?”

“I’ve been told I make a really good medium rare steak”

“Medium rare? So all you do is control the temperature? That’s not impressive.”

“…Do you like to cook?”

“No. I don’t see the need to cook. I can just go to a restaurant and buy food. Haha. Why try to make a steak when you can go to a restaurant and get a good one?”

I think with that comment he was trying to show off that he had money to always go out to eat? I have no idea. But jokes on him, what I like to do on later dates is invite the guy over for a home cooked meal. It’s a subtle way of getting a guy over to my place. But that wasn’t going to happen with this one.

3.

Ask to wear matching outfits. I wish I was kidding.

thewildbunny

4.

“He initiates a dinner date. Dinner date ends up being with his extended family. Since he drove us, I get stuck back at his mom’s home with extended family while he disappeared somewhere. I’m not even socially comfortable around my own extended family.”

uncappedlynx

5.

One time, a guy asked me out and showed up in those toe shoes.

Didn’t realize it was at the top of my “no no” list until it happened.

probablyeatingtacos

6.

Take you to his grandmother’s house and ask her for money to pay for the date…

heyychiaki

7.

Don’t flirt with the waiter. And the girl sitting next to us. And my roommate…

wesrdctfvygbhunjimko

8.

Wear too much cologne. Be on your phone. Talk about your ex. I had a man who brought her up and said I reminded him of her. Ive also had men just talk about how much they hated their exes it’s just awkward.

9.

Trying to fingerblast me at dinner

10.

Take me to your place. A guy did it once, no warning after we went out to eat. I had to ask where we were driving when I assumed he was talking me back to my car and he drove in the other direction.

magicmusi8

11.

Don’t take your date to olive garden, slurp your soup up really really fast, use your finger to get the remaining traces out of the bowl and lick your fingers, and then request two more soup refills in a row so i have to endure this torture again and again

soofyahn

12.

Ask, “Are you a natural blonde?” then shift your eyes to my crotch. Shudders

GIfuckingJane

13.

I once went on a first date where I got into the guys car and he started drifting through the busy streets in an urban area and refused to stop to let me out of the car. He didn’t wear shoes and brought me to Carl’s Jr. for dinner (which I paid for). As we were driving by an “adult entertainment” store on our way back to my car he asked if I wanted to stop in and go shopping.

AwkwardGeisha

14.

Point out hickies that another girl gave you 3 days prior. Text the hickey girl to tell her you’re on a date with me, then tell me about texting her.

recalcitrantdonut

15.

Riding around on/bragging about the brand of your hoverboard. Also, don’t stick your tongue in a girl’s ear ten seconds after kissing her for the first time.

ginganinja14

16.

Do not say you’re in love with her on the first date.

It comes off as creepy more so than sweet.

Mirellemagic

17.

Don’t speculate what color hair and eyes the kids will have.

Seriously–I hadn’t been through one meal with the fellow and he already thinks I’ll bear his children? Yikes!

doublestitch

18.

Call me “woman”.

Did you already forget my name? Is it a weird power thing? I don’t get it.

mariecurious

19.

Ask whether the girl had waxed or shaved her private parts. Then, upon hearing no, tell her you have a razor in your backpack.

I noped out of that one right quick.

Pajamaralways

20.

Don’t try to ‘neg’ me and think I won’t notice.

Don’t try any of those art of seduction techniques, for that matter. The only guys who would look them up tend to be the ones who are too socially awkward to execute them without it being freaking obvious. It just comes across as dishonest.

J4viator

21.

Grab a solid handful of your ass cheek as if it were the most appropriate greeting to give your date.

Lemonsweetie

22.

Late to the party, but still. Don’t bring your 5yo child and tell him “she’s your new mommy “. Nope nope nope.

BasilNuts

23.

Wear skin-tight leggings covered in cats flying through the cosmos.

That was a weird night.
