This Grandma Got A Cosplay Makeover And She Looks Unbelievable

Alexandra Brumley is a photographer with a special focus on cosplay. She loves costumes, the actors who don costumes, and placing them in their magical world with her camera:

She covers comic book characters, video games, anime, Disney, Star Wars, and even characters from fairytales. Also Taylor Swift.

Brumley has managed to touch on just about every fantasy theme in her work, but she recently announced a new project that’s much more personal.

On twitter she shared photos of her grandmother on her birthday, dressing up for her first experience doing cosplay and looking fan-freaking-tastic:

Brumley wrote on Instagram that she assembled her grandmother’s costume from old pieces she’s made, and is calling her character “Snow Queen Mother.”

In another posts she added that her grandmother suffered a stroke, and lives with Brumley’s parents.

Winter amongst the family is a bit quiet and sad, as it’s a time marked by the memory of loss.

Brumley says that she realized she didn’t have as many picture of loved ones as she wishes she did, including her grandfather, so including family members in her fantasy world is an important connection for her to make.

Though Brumley’s grandmother looks very serious and majestic in her photo, Brumley still has a playful view of her real connection to her:

Brumley has a relatively small following on Twitter, but her pictures of her grandmother have been retweeted over ten thousand times. They’re just that good.

And Brumley’s grandmother loves them too:

Can’t wait until the whole family gets their shoot!

The Rock Sent The Funniest Message To This Sick Grandma In The Hospital

The Rock may be the cutest, sweetest, most enthusiastic celebrity on the planet. He actually seems to care about his fans. Plus, his appeal knows no age boundaries, as a message from the family of 76-year-old Judy Rosenberg attests.

In an Instagram post from The Rock on Sunday, he shares a very special email he got that he claims came out of nowhere. No one on The Rock’s staff has heard of this person, so the fact that he even saw it is something of a miracle. Can you imagine emailing The Rock, and having him actually read it?

It was sent from Judy’s family, and they asked for The Rock to give her a shout out, as she has recently entered hospice for stage 4 pancreatic cancer. But she brought one very special item with her: a sexy cut out of Dwayne Johnson.

The Rock reads off Judy’s email, which says she has five children and 17 grandchildren, and she’s been married to her husband for 57 years. She’d still like for The Rock to call her sexy, though.

Of course, because The Rock’s a gentlemen, he does, and sends along some air kiss and off-color jokes about “practicing” making babies. Don’t worry, Judy is a self-professed “potty mouth,” so she probably loved it.

“The universe works in amazing ways, and I am so glad I got this email,” he says, and wishes her “all the love and all the positive energy in the world.”

The whole video is captioned with an additional message to his biggest grandma fan, reading, “Stay strong Judy, you sexy tiger. We’re all sending you and your family love and light during this time and I’m an extremely grateful man this email reached my eyes. * this kind of stuff will always be the best part of fame. Thx U Universe.”

Hopefully, this message makes it to Judy’s eyes, so she can hear The Rock calling her name as she holds his cut out hand.

The Rock is what dreams are made of, for young and old!

Grandma Who Accidentally Texted Teen Keeps Promise Of Inviting Him To Thanksgiving

Last week, a tweet by 17-year-old Jamal Hinton of Mesa, Arizona, went viral after he received an accidental text from someone else’s grandma. The teen was accidentally added to a Thanksgiving family group chat started by Wanda Dench, who had intended to add her own grandson but got the number wrong.

Dench didn’t know she’d got the number wrong until Hinton asked for a selfie to see if his own grandma had just got a new phone.

A tweet by Hinton, sharing the hilarious exchange, quickly went viral and acquired more than 200,000 retweets.

But what seemed to get the most attention was Dench’s promise that Hinton could still come around for Thanksgiving dinner because “that’s what grandmas do… feed every one.”

And you’ll be pleased to know that yesterday, grandma kept her end of the deal.

Dench told ABC 15 that Hinton had indeed come over for Thanksgiving dinner, and that it was destiny that the two meet. “This wasn’t me, it’s come from God above. He’s just using us as his tools and vessels to bring a message to others.”

And Twitter loved it too.

It looks like it was a lot of fun.
