Joel Osteen’s Church Tried To Collect Money From Harvey Victims During Service

Pastor/founder/millionaire Joel Osteen caved to public pressure last week and opened his Lakewood Church to victims of Hurricane Harvey in Houston.

But Osteen is in hot water again after footage emerged of church ushers collecting donations from storm victims.

Dedicated to hurricane victims in the audience, the service includes Lisa Osteen Comes asking people affected by Harvey to stand up:

Many people in the audience do stand, and their fellow churchgoers pray for them:

Almost all experts agree that recovery from a disaster of this magnitude will be both slow and hard.

Comes tells worshipers that recovery from Harvey will not be slow or hard, but quick! And easy!

As soon as Comes finishes praying for the victims of the hurricane, ushers begin passing out collection plates so the people of Houston may donate to the church. Many of those people have lost their homes to the record floodwaters, while Osteen’s net worth is estimated at $ 40–70 million.

Watch the whole video:

Joel Osteen’s eye is always on the bottom line: how much money can we make and what do we have to say to make it?

Side-By-Side Satellite Images Of Hurricanes Katrina And Harvey Emerge Online

As Hurricane Harvey continues to batter the eastern coast of Texas, people are comparing it to Hurricane Katrina, which devastated a large swath of the Gulf Coast in 2005.

MSNBC tweeted a photo Friday afternoon, before the hurricane hit Texas, featuring a side-by-side comparison of the two storms:

After the tweet, the eye of the storm became more fully defined, and was upgraded from a category 3 to a category 4. Katrina started as a category 5 before being downgraded to a 3.

And we will never forget the devastation Katrina caused:

Good Morning America had an expert explain the similarities between the two hurricanes:

As of Saturday afternoon, Harvey had been downgraded to a tropical storm, but the worst may be yet to come. While the hurricane is already blamed for at least one death, the expected torrential downpours and subsequent flooding are set to create widespread havoc for much of inland Texas over the next several days.

Twitter made sure everyone knew the potential danger Harvey posed:

As Katrina was for the Bush presidency, Harvey may be a defining moment for President Trump. The nation waits to see how he responds, and what kind of toll Harvey takes.

Steve Harvey Meets Contestant That Looks Exactly Like Him On Family Feud

Steve Harvey and Family Feud were a match made in heaven. His reactions were so great that people began uploading them to the net before Family Feud decided to start uploading clips themselves and prompted those that have never bothered with the show to scroll through footage for hours at a time.

His reactions to the over the top answers some contestants give him are really what everyone looks forward to.  With each new episode that airs, you can see his faith in mankind diminish more and more, along with his will to continue hosting the show.

On a recent episode that aired, something interesting happened; one of the contestants shared an uncanny resemblance to the host, all the way down to his signature mustache and inquiring facial expression.

The guest insisted that he should be compensated to some degree for constantly being mistaken for Steve Harvey, who countered by pointing out one very important difference between the two.  Take a look:
