Man's Bizarre Holiday Decoration Causes Neighbors To Call 911, And We Can See Why

There’s a neighborhood in Boulder, Colorado, that is getting freaked out by one man’s holiday decorations. Chris Olson has had concerned community members rush into his yard, greeted both the police and the fire department, and made it onto the local news for his work here, and he seems thrilled about it.

Olsen spoke with KUSA about the dummy hanging from the edge of his roof which is so convincing, people contacted the authorities. It’s actually kind of touching that people care so much, but when it looks like someone is about to fall to their death from a roof, folks step up.

Olsen used his own clothes, stuffed with yet more of his clothes, and he got a lot of the details nailed down perfectly. Gloves, hat, warm parka. This dummy is dressed better than I am.

Up close you may not be convinced, but from a distance, it really does look like a guy was stringing up his lights, then took a tumble:

Olsen says that he and his wife have had to go out in the yard to reassured freaked out Good Samaritan’s that the dummy is fine and not a real person.

They also say that if they do it again next year (they will), they plan to contact the local police so they know not to rush over with the fire trucks. Apparently, the officers who responded to the emergency call were amused, and didn’t even ticket Olsen.

Guess it’s slow around Christmas?

Conservatives Protest Starbucks' Newest Holiday Cups, And It's Not About Jesus This Time

It’s just not the holiday season without a Starbucks cup controversy.

This year, conservatives are pointing out a very small detail of the current Starbucks cup design:

You see those two hands, top left? Well, the Christian right is CONVINCED those hands belong to lesbians and that the cups are pushing a gay agenda.

Oddly enough, Buzzfeed News seems to be responsible for drawing attention to this.

After Starbucks released a video featuring a lesbian couple…

…people happily tweeted that they believed the hand-holders on the cups are the lesbians from the ad:

Guess we will see how this controversy evolves over the holiday season.

Photo Of Starbucks' New Holiday Season Cups Appears Online

It’s mid-October, and you know what that means: it’s time for companies to start preparing for Christmas!

One such company, Starbucks Coffee, courts controversy every year  with their Holiday Cups – no matter how “Holiday” themed they turn out to be. Past cups have ranged from plain red, to wintery nature scenes, to open references to Christmas.

This year, well before the big unveiling, a Starbucks employee leaked the holiday cup design on Reddit:

In 2015, Starbucks’ plain red cup led to a boycott from evangelical Christians who believed the company “hated Jesus.” It seems they’ve taken steps to avoid that scenario by including a whimsical Christmas tree and gifts on this cup. Good luck with that.

I mean, certainly someone will be offended by this design…

The mockery was swift…

Some are comparing the design to some familiar stories…

It’s also possible, of course, that this isn’t Starbucks’ only design. Last year, they crowd-sourced 13 designs from 13 different women, 6 of whom were from other countries. Perhaps we’ve finally reached a point, as a  species, where one of these designs will allow us to order a coffee (or not) and go on with our lives without being outraged.

Ya think?

President Trump Declares A New Holiday That Has Many People Concerned

President Trump Declares A New Holiday That Has Many People Concerned

President Trump has proclaimed Monday, May 1st, as Loyalty Day, according to a statement from the White House. The observance of “allegiance to the principles” of the country is a longstanding tradition which dates back to President Eisenhower, who officially enacted the day in 1955.

The Daily Buzz

While he was thinking about May, The President decided to give it a few other labels:

Though many have never heard of it, declaring May 1st Loyalty Day is something almost all presidents do:

Although some point out its origins are a little sketchy:

Some Twitter users have a major problem with the President’s declaration:

For those of you wondering why you’ve never heard of Loyalty Day before now:

Let’s all take a moment this May 1st to remember all the things our country stands for: protection of the oppressed, truth, and about a thousand other things The President sometimes forgets about.

The FBI Made A Hilariously Bad Holiday Greetings Card And They're Getting Roasted

It’s the time of year that you start to hear “happy holidays” from friends, family, and businesses whose mailing lists you accidentally signed up to five years ago. The Federal Bureau of Investigation, which gets billions in taxpayer dollars to protect us, is no exception. Except this year they didn’t really seem to put much effort into it. In fact, it looks like an intern spent all of five minutes on it. And that’s being generous.

In fact, it looks like an intern spent all of five minutes on it. And that’s being generous. Here’s how they wished their followers on Twitter happy holidays…

LOOK AT THAT WORK OF ART. Unsurprisingly, they’re getting roasted pretty hard for it by Twitter users.
