President Trump Just Tweeted Another Violent Image At CNN—Happy Holidays!

Christmas is a time of family, joy and reflection when we all gather to revel in merriment and reconnect with loved ones we haven’t seen in awhile. Carols are sung, eggnog is poured and time is taken to evaluate the lessons learned in the prior year to better utilize them during the next.

President Donald Trump on the other hand, has taken this opportunity to further his WAR on CNN, whom he considers the leader of the “Fake News” mafia.

Yes, the president chose Christmas Eve as the perfect time to retweet a blood-spattered shoe meme with the caption “WINNING,”  attacking CNN.

The original tweet was sent by a staunch supporter of 45’s, whom the President felt needed a larger audience.

Stay classy.

Well if that doesn’t scream ‘Happy Holidays!’, I don’t know what does.

CNN’s “State of the Union” anchor, Jake Tapper, first noticed the tweet and replied:

Twitter was equally disgusted…

Is anyone keeping score? Do we know who this round goes to? It’s certainly not the American people.

The Director Of 'The Last Jedi' Just Responded To Massive Backlash On The Internet

It has been a week since The Last Jedi released and the world is still torn on it. While everyone agrees that it was a very, very different kind of Star Wars film, no one can seem to agree if that is a good thing or not. Should the franchise remain what we know and love? Or should it evolve into something different?

Wherever you fall on this debate, I, for one at least think it is good we are having it. One of the biggest complaints about Hollywood is that they make the same things over and over again. So shouldn’t we be wanting something new?

Was The Last Jedi too new?

Director Rian Johnson has finally chimed in on this issue. While I think we all suspected that he would stand by his work, he did also mention that dividing people was never his intention.

But much like The Last Jedi itself people are really divided on Johnson’s answer.

This will be a fight that lasts a long time. It will only end when the light side and the dark side can strike a balance.

Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' Breaks Billboard Top 10, And Carey Just Responded

Christmas albums are a guilty pleasure. If you play me some Yuletide songs from December 26h until November 30th of the following year, I’ll roll my eyes and dream of the different ways I can drop-kick you into oblivion.

However, from December 1st until the 25th, I’d really love it if you could just blast Christmas songs all day. I don’t even care what they are, I don’t care how slow they are, I don’t care how old they are, I don’t even care what language they’re in – I wanna hear them.

I mean everything about the song: the music video, the lyrics, Mariah’s Christmas pajamas and the bell sounds in it are nothing short of perfection.

And as it turns out, there are tons of people who agree with me, I mean how else would a song that debuted in 1994, somehow, 23 years later, make it to the Billboard Top 10 chart, if it wasn’t absolutely adored?

That’s right: The holiday staple beat out a bunch of new releases to break into the top ten play chart because it’s that friggin’ good.

Mariah Carey was super thankful for the resurgence and let her fans know.

And apparently they’re called lambs, which is about a good a name as any, I guess? Unless Maybe Carey really likes shawarma or something.

Is it an indication of our generation’s obsession with everything ’90s?

Or maybe it’s because Carey is somehow viewed as a plucky underdog who had to persevere the test of time?

I mean that can’t be right, it’s not like the song wasn’t successful when it debuted.

People started taking a stab at how they thought Mariah was taking the news.

While others brought up irrefutable points.

I mean come on, it’s not like they’re wrong, are they?

Apparently there’s a movement now to bring “All I Want for Christmas Is You” out of the top 10 and into Billboard’s Top 5 category.

I mean, why stop there? Why not make it gun for that number one spot?

Let’s make it happen people. Let’s do it for Mariah. No…not Mariah – for CHRISTMAS.

Roy Moore Just Doubled Down On Refusing To Concede, With An Even More Absurd Excuse

On Tuesday, December 12, Republican Roy Moore lost the special election to fill Attorney General Jeff Session’s vacant Senate seat. Senator-elect Doug Jones is the first Democrat Alabama has elected since the early 1990s, in part due to myriad controversies surrounding Moore. Judge Moore has been twice removed from the bench as a result of his defiance of federal rulings. Just last year, he was ousted after ordering probate judges to ignore the Supreme Court’s decision on same-sex marriage and  refuse marriage licenses to same-sex couples.

In a move anyone familiar with Moore’s history will find unsurprising, the former candidate is refusing to concede the election to Jones, claiming he is waiting for every ballot to be counted.

Moore is now suggesting voter fraud may have played a role in his loss.

In a December 15 email to his supporters, Moore asked for contributions to his “Election Integrity Fund” and claimed, “this battle is NOT OVER!”

Moore released a video in which he continues his campaign rhetoric while undercutting the results of Tuesday’s election:

Some people predicted this scenario:

Even  Moore’s Republican allies, including President Donald Trump (who went so far as to cut a robo-call in support of the candidate), have said Moore should concede the race.

Sen. John Thune (R-SD) said of the loss:

So we have to deal now with another Democrat in the Senate, but Roy Moore lost that election. It’s over. We’ll move on and do the best that we can in the days ahead to continue to move an agenda forward that is good for the American people.

Doug Jones acknowledged on NBC’s Today Show that sometimes it’s difficult to move on from a bitterly fought race, but also said there was “no doubt” in his mind regarding the results of the elections, and that Moore would “do well to go ahead and let’s get this behind us.” The results of the election will be officially certified between December 26 and January 3.

Alabama’s secretary of state, John Merrill, believes it is “highly unlikely” Jones will not be declared the winner.

Disney's CEO Just Told Fans What They Can Expect From 'Deadpool 2'—And They're Ecstatic

One of the biggest reasons the original Deadpool film was such a huge success and earned Fox such a ginormous box office return was because Ryan Reynolds worked his butt off to ensure it was as Deadpool-ey of a movie as possible.

That meant violence. It meant gore. It meant sex and inappropriate jokes and a lot of breaking the fourth wall.

Now that kind of thing might seem like a movie producer’s worst nightmare. Major motion picture studios looking for the highest rate of return are allured by family-friendly, safe cinematic choices. The more mundane and mediocre and inoffensive a film is, the more guaranteed of a return of investment, statistically speaking.

I mean, there’s a reason why a film about a bunch of murderous bad guys ended up being rated PG-13 and watered down to a “meh” mess. A “meh” mess that nabbed nearly $ 750 million at the box office.

Deadpool was a huge departure from that boring, MPAA-rating-friendly studio process and it ended up reaping the benefits. Fox greenlit a sequel almost immediately after the film’s opening box-office numbers came in, and things were looking great.

But Disney’s CEO, Bob Iger, assures fan that Disney’s got no problem with being in the R-rated film business, just as long as “audiences know what’s coming.”

Which means that the upcoming film won’t receive a whole bunch of edits and cuts for the sake of assuring the film isn’t “too edgy.”

Ryan Reynolds took the news of Disney’s buyout in typical Deadpool fashion.

And Twitter was ecstatic that their favorite foul mouthed red bodysuit wearing unkillable smart-cracking ninja won’t be censored.

But people don’t want the love to stop at Deadpool 2, they’re worried that Iger’s just talking about the film as if it’s a one time thing.

While others aren’t exactly holding out hope for the future.

It could make sense for Disney to keep some particular superhero films rated R. Movies like Logan and Deadpool could get their own treatment or exist in an “alternate timeline,” where the more family friendly films aren’t tied to their risque counterparts.

But seriously, the Deadpool movies need to stay rated R so when the Spiderman crossover films come out, this happens.

Conan O'Brien Just Explained Why Trump Has Been Silent On Twitter–And We're Chuckling

There was a moment today in which there were no tweets from President Trump. No one knew what to think. Nobody but Conan O’Brien, that is, who chimed in with a characteristically wise insight.

Not long after, the President’s tweets resumed, presumably because he could still hold a phone and tweet with his thumbs, but it might have take him a little while to figure that out.

In the meantime, Twitter nodded their heads in agreement with O’Brien:

There was some debate over which country deserves credit for the ingenious device:

And some people shared their own speculations:

But we couldn’t agree more with this:

Astronauts Just Tweeted Photos Of California Wildfires From Space–And They're Unsettling

It’s hard to miss the news that huge swathes of Los Angeles and Ventura counties in California are currently on fire. Extreme winds have been blowing smoke and ash across residential areas, and hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated. Footage of people driving down the 405 as the hills burn around them look like the freaking apocalypse.

If there is a group of people you’d guess are unaware of the natural disaster consuming the West Coast, it’d probably be astronauts. They’ve either got their eyes on the stars, or they’re floating around in space, so far from Earth and all her troubles.

Actually, it turns out they have a pretty unique perspective on what’s going on down here, because their cameras capture everything:

Astronauts and space stations all over the world are capturing images from the sky of how California looks right now, and it’s freaking scary. The streams of smoke are covering almost the entire city and more. The pictures will make you wonder how anyone is managing to survive down there:

Someone even tried to label all the neighborhoods, to give people a more specific idea of who was under all that ash and smoke:

Who knew this place looked even more frightening from far away.

Ryan Reynolds Just Tweeted A Brutal Birthday Message To His Brother–And We Can Relate

It turns out actor Ryan Reynolds doesn’t save birthday snark for just his wife and kids. Reynolds just sent a little birthday love to his big brother Jeff, and we’re loving the sweet and salty trolling.

The Deadpool star took to Twitter to wax sentimental on his brother’s special day:

No news yet on brother Jeff’s reaction, but Twitter couldn’t get enough.

Anyone can tweet out a generic “Happy Birthday!” But Reynolds has skills.

Reynolds should be in charge of Twitter birthdays for everyone.

Apparently Reynolds ribbing his brother is becoming something of a family tradition.

Last year he took a birthday swipe at his big bro that was adorable and similarly snarky.

Who’s counting the minutes to Jeff’s 2018 birthday?!

People Are Losing It Over Coat Meghan Markle Just Wore To Her First Royal Engagement

Soon-to-be Princess Meghan Markle made a a dazzling debut on the world stage this week.

Prince Harry and his fiancée made their first official appearance together in the UK, meeting a community that is “very special” to the Prince. The couple did their inaugural royal walkabout through Nottingham, then attended a World AIDS Day event.

Markle charmed people with her glowing smile and warm enthusiasm — and her chic coat:

Later, they visited the Nottingham academy, where they watched young actors perform an improvised play about a “fictional” young couple going public with their secret romance. One of the actors, 19-year-old Taynika Jarrett-Bennett, said, “We wanted to make it a fun play and involve the royals.”

And Markle won over the cast when she complimented their performance.

And so a new royal chapter begins. We think Princess Diana would be proud.
