Man Trolls Police For Taking Part In Gay Pride—And It Immediately Backfired

Wales held their annual Pride weekend, Pride Cymru, over the weekend. Thousands attended the events in Cardiff, which featured a faith tent for the first time, with people from different religious backgrounds celebrating their place in the LGBTQ community. Worship was also led by a bishop for the first time.

Among the more than 100 organizations that took part in the parade was the Wales Air Ambulance, who sent their mascot to join the events alongside the mascot of South Wales Police.

Police officer Rich Lewis took to Twitter to share a photo of the two…

But not everyone was impressed.

So Wales Air Ambulance decided to reply with the obvious…

You can feel the heat from that burn from miles away. And most of Twitter could feel the burn, too…

Drunk Man Wakes Up To Selfies Of The Police Officers Who Took Him Home

A Tasmanian man has gone viral for drinking himself into a blackout and getting saved from some bizarrely friendly officers. Australians sure seem to do policing differently. News.com.au reports that Reece Park had a wild night and ended up in a cab somewhere near his home completely blotto on Friday evening. The driver called the cops, and instead of slamming Park in jail, Constables Natalie Siggins and Jeremy Blyth escorted him home and left a selfie on his phone, so he’d remember how he got there:

Don’t worry, someone asked the important question:

It’s hard not to think about all the ways this could have gone wrong for Park. This image was taken in a pretty small town on a somewhat isolated island, and they apparently have some unique ideas on community policing. A few Queensland commenters on Reddit have said that officers are called the police service rather than the police force so as to seem more community-oriented. They’re at least in touch enough to know that the photo has become wildly popular on Reddit. The Tasmania Police addressed it on their Facebook page, writing:

Park and his saviors were even interviewed on the local news:

When asked if the experience might have turned him off drinking, Park only responded, “I dunno.” Hmm, think we know what that means.

Daughter Of Police Officer Who Passed On 9/11 Sworn Into NYPD

Daughter Of Police Officer Who Passed On 9/11 Sworn Into NYPD

We’d all like to think that we’ve lived a good life, or a meaningful one. And although we know deep down inside whether or not we’re fulfilled, it helps to look at things situationally. Are you doing good work? It’s probably best to listen to people you admire and see what they think of whatever you’re doing.

And while it’s true that many things are based on opinion and the definition of what’s “good” varies from person to person, there are some things that are just undeniably great.

Like sacrificing yourself to save others in the face of a great national tragedy? You can’t really knock that. It’s safe to say that if you were a hero cop on let’s say, oh 9/11, you’re worthy of some praise and recognition, like NYPD sergeant Timothy Roy.

Now, Roy’s daughter is carrying on her father’s legacy after being sworn in as a member of the NYPD.

One of 474 new cadets, Brittney Roy, at 22-years-old, is excited to join the force and follow in the footsteps of her father and the other heroes she grew up admiring.

“Since I was very young, I grew up seeing heroes. It’s just always been a dream to be one of them, and especially what my father has done for the nation, the country. It was a true aspiration to be able to try and follow his footsteps,” She said during her swearing-in ceremony this past Thursday.

Timothy Roy passed away when he was only 36-years-old. He rushed to the South Tower right before it collapsed.

Roy’s body was found the day before St. Patrick’s day, the officer’s favorite holiday. He passed when Brittney was only 7 years old.

NYPD Police Commissioner James O’Neill was struck by how excited Brittney was to pick up where her father left off.

Police Are Pulling People Over And Handing Out Presents Instead Of Tickets

Seeing red and blue lights in your rear view mirrors will immediately ruin your day. The sinking feeling in your stomach hits, and you instinctively take a glance at your gauges to see if you were speeding. Then the fines enter your mind.

The ticket, the court fees, paying the court’s blood money to reduce charges so your insurance rates wouldn’t skyrocket, it all adds up to a hefty fee for even the smallest of offenses. It’s inconvenient, but when it’s during the holiday season, it can be downright disastrous to shell out that kind of cash while you’re still budgeting yourself for presents.

Dylan Bullinger saw police pull a woman over in front of his shop.

They took presents out of their cars and stuffed them into hers.

Undoubtedly, that must’ve been one heck of an emotional roller coaster for the young lady, but I’m sure she appreciated the kind gesture once she realized what was going on.

Bullinger whipped out his phone and snapped a couple of pictures to share with family and friends online.

Another Jackson, MI resident recognized the campaign and shared with anyone following the post that the police department does this every year.

Dallas Police Chief Tells Legislatures To Step Up And Do Their Jobs To Cut Down On Gun Violence

The murder of five Dallas police officers that came at the end of a week of protests has weighed heavily on citizens, pitting them against each other on social media and having them wonder if we’ll ever be able to move beyond issues that have plagued us as a nation for far too long.

The internet always has its say first, but today, amidst a climate of social and political discord, Dallas Police Chief David Brown reached into the same love he has had for his hometown that propelled him to become the man today, and spoke both out and up.

This is Police Chief David Brown.Five Police Officers Killed During Anti-Police Brutality March In Dallas

For anyone that has been too busy playing Pokemon Go for the last week, he leads the police force that just lost five officers during an anti-police brutality protest after the deaths of two African American men, one of which had a CCW permit, which by law allowed him to carry his firearm, and may have cost him his life.

During a press conference today, Chief Brown hit several points on the head, starting with addressing the topic of gun control:

“I was asked, ‘Well what’s your opinion about guns?’ Ask the policymakers to do something and then I’ll give you an opinion.  Put a law out there and I’ll give you an opinion about it, but to have me do that job, I’ll pass on that.  Get in that debate and get swallowed up by both sides who are entrenched in their positions?  I want no part of that.  Do your job.  We’re doing ours.  We’re putting our lives on the line.  The other aspects of government need to step up and help us.”

He expressed the problem he sees with Open Carry laws as well:Dallas Mourns Killings Of Five Police Officers

It’s increasingly challenging, when people have AR-15s slung over and shootings occur in a crowd and they begin running and we don’t know if they’re the shooter or not.  Its been the presumption that a good guy with a gun is the best way to resolve some of these things.  We don’t know who the good guy is versus who the bad guy is if everybody starts shooting, and we’ve expressed that concern as well.  I have every belief and trust that our folks are listening at the state on this issue, particularly when it involves protests.

He also spoke about why he became a police officer.Five Police Officers Killed During Anti-Police Brutality March In Dallas

He went in depth about him joining to help Dallas through its crack epidemic in the early 80s, and invited those protesting to leave the picket line and to join him and the rest of the department in fixing today’s issues.

“We’re hiring.  We’ll put you in your neighborhood, and we will help you resolve some of the problems you’re protesting about.”

“I’ve been black a long time,” he joked.Five Police Officers Killed During Anti-Police Brutality March In Dallas

He grew up in Dallas, making sure to mention that he was in fact a 3rd generation Dallasite.

“We’re in a much better place than we were when I was a young man here, but we have much more work to do, particularly in our profession.  Leaders in our position need to put our careers on the line and make sure we do things right.  Not be so worried about keeping their job.  That’s how I approach it.  I hope that it’s an example for others to approach the way we conduct ourselves as police officers.”

Powerful words in a trying time, by a man that everyone on all sides of the conflict can relate to.

What are your thoughts on the topic?
