Family ties are important to everyone. Even those who don’t communicate all that well throughout the year make an effort to contact those they really do love during the holidays. Personally, the only significance holidays have to me are that I get some extra time off from work to spend with my family, and I know I’m not alone when it comes to that.
As anyone reading this knows, however, our time on this plane of existence is limited, and your first holiday without a parent, grandparent, sibling, or anyone you’ve been close to your entire life is going to be difficult.
Losing a loved one is a difficult concept to grasp, even more so for a child. One Twitter user shared a moment this Christmas when her aunt gave her sisters teddy bears that had a familiar voice to them.
so my grandpa passed away tragically about a year ago and my aunt got my sisters a teddy bear that has a recording of my grandpas voice?❤️ pic.twitter.com/zdjUaghISr

The girls immediately recognized the voice of their late grandfather once they squeezed their respective bear’s hand.
Possibly the best feature Build-A-Bear has ever offered, as it’s definitely a lovely way to ensure that their grandpa was around for this Christmas and will be for many more to come.
