Trump Said His 'Nuclear Button' Is Bigger Than North Korea's And You Can Guess How People Reacted

President Donald Trump took to Twitter on his first day back in Washington after spending the holidays at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida. He attacked the Department Of Justice, announced that he’d be holding some bizarre fake news award show next Monday, and that’s just the start.

On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump responded to claims by North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un that he keeps an armed nuclear button on his desk in the only way Donald Trump could…

Yes, the leader of the free world just said that his “nuclear button” is “much bigger and more powerful.” And just in case you were wondering, it “works,” even at 71 years old.

North Korea has pursued a nuclear weapons program since the end of the Korean War, and previous presidents have enforced international embargoes to force the regime to the negotiation table. North Korea now claims to have missiles that could reach the continental United States, and the two new leaders have been in a war of words, with President Trump threatening “fire and fury” and calling Kim Jong Un “little rocket man.”

Yes, the Internet knows what Donald Trump is insinuating. And many users were unimpressed given the seriousness.

Others seemed to get a laugh out of the tweet.

Some users allured to the claim that President Donald Trump has a red button on his desk that he uses to have coca cola and snacks delivered to his desk.

What do you think of the President’s nuclear button?

This Candid Picture Of The Royal Family Is Cuter Than The Official Photos

Every since Prince Harry’s engagement to actress Meghan Markle was announced, Royal Family fever has swept America. He’s marrying that beautiful woman from Suits! She is one of us, only far more cool!

I’ve never particularly cared about the UK’s symbolic figureheads. A queen? Who cares. Being born into the royalty just seems like the luck of the draw. Being married into it, however, is an accomplishment. Taking an interest in what’s going on with queenie and her crew is new to me, but plenty of people have made it into their hobby. A mom named Karen Murdoch got up early on Christmas day to catch a glimpse of the royals leaving St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, where they traditionally celebrate.

And she caught the perfect picture:

Don’t they look incredible? You really couldn’t have staged a better image. And people tried. As a comparison, here’s a picture from Getty:

It’s not a bad image, but so stiff and formal in comparison to Murdoch’s candid. Her picture has gone wildly viral, and the replies are full of people congratulating her and also telling her to be careful. Everyone wants a piece of this photo’s action.

Murdoch told the Telegraph that she took the picture on an iPhone and all she did was shout the season’s greetings at the group to get those smiles.

“I’m just very bubbly by nature and I was with my daughter and I got a bit excitable, I suppose,” she said. “I was just sort of shouting and I just went, ‘Merry Christmas!’ like an idiot. I was fan-girling.”

She was there with her daughter, and hopes she’ll get some money for the image to send her kid to school. I hope she does, too! It’s fed my interest in Markle’s upcoming nuptials for another day.

The early bird gets the pic.

21 Animals Who Are More Athletic Than Most Humans

I am a terrible athlete. No matter the sport, I am guaranteed to be the worst person on the team. I was okay with that for a while.

Then I saw animals attempt these same sports and they just happen to be way better than me without even trying. It’s the kind of thing that really puts things in perspective. Or maybe it doesn’t. I don’t know. I’m too upset to really think about it right now.

Don’t believe me? Check out these animals and see if it doesn’t put you in your place.

J.K. Rowling Just Officially Revealed That There Was More Than One Harry Potter

J.K. Rowling is keeping the Harry Potter universe alive and breathing through her world-building site, Pottermore. She frequently posts short stories expanding the world of witches and wizards, and it’s kept fans satisfied since the last book’s publication.

But a recent post from Rowling has many fans scratching their heads and wondering what the famous author’s future plans are.

In a recent post entitled The Potter Family, Rowling delves deep into Harry’s family tree and their lineage. She begins:

“The Potter family is a very old one, but it was never (until the birth of Harry James Potter) at the very forefront of wizarding history, contenting itself with a solid and comfortable existence in the backwaters.”

But it was this piece in the middle of the story that caught fans’ attentions:

“… Henry Potter (Harry to his intimates),  who was a direct descendant of Hardwin and lolanthe, and served on the Wizengamot from 1913-1921.”

That’s right. There was a Harry Potter before Harry Potter.

This Harry Potter, or Henry, was the one we know’s great-grandfather. As it turns out, he was just as big a do-gooder as his great-grandson would end up becoming. Rowling writes:

“Henry caused a minor stir when he publicly condemned then Minister for Magic, Archer Evermonde, who had forbidden the magical community to help Muggles waging the First World War.

His outspokenness on the behalf of the Muggle community was also a strong contributing factor in the family’s exclusion from the ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’.”

The ‘Sacred Twenty-Eight’ were the 28 British families that were still “truly pure-blood,” or married to other pure-blood wizards, by the 1930s. Fans have interpreted this as a sign of things to come.

Rowling’s most recent film, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them, was set in the 1920’s. Since there are four more films in this series slated for release, many are looking at these tales for any indication of where the stories might go. If future movies take the wizards into World War II, a group of xenophobic wizards would fit right in.

Whatever Rowling has planned, you can bet Harry Potter fans will eat it up and look for any clues they can find.

Study Says Puppies Understand Baby Speak Better Than Regular Speech

If you’ve ever played with a puppy, you’ve probably talked to it like you’d speak to a baby.  If you’ve ever talked baby talk to a puppy, you surely had a very un-fun person ask you why you were doing that. The next time this happens you can just say “Science!” and continue to play with your dog.

A study published in Proceedings of Royal Society B showed some fascinating results about the effects of baby talk on dogs of different ages. The study was conducted by having female volunteers record the line “Hi! Hello cutie! Who’s a good boy? Come here! Good boy! Yes! Come here sweetie pie! What a good boy!” while looking at pictures of puppies, adult dogs, old dogs, and humans.

While there was little change in the pitch while looking at other humans, there was a noticeable difference when looking at the pictures of dogs. On average, the pitch increased by 13 percent for the old dogs, 11 percent for the adult dogs, and a whopping 21 percent for the puppies.

The scientists then played the recordings over the loudspeaker in an animal shelter in New York City. Upon hearing these recordings the puppies rushed over to the loudspeaker and stayed there for a while. Furthermore, they reacted better to the puppy recordings than to the human recordings, staying at the loudspeaker for longer.

The adult dogs reacted similarly to both the recording for adult dogs and the recording for humans. In both cases, the recordings were mostly ignored. They would glance over to the loud speaker and then go back to whatever they were doing before. Nicolas Mathevon, co-author of the study, speculates that “[M]aybe older dogs do not react that way because they are just more choosy and they want only to react with a familiar person.”

This study was then replicated in France and Italy with French and Italian speakers, respectively, where it achieved the same results.

So what does this all mean? An early theory has to do to do with the “Baby Schema” which is that humans evolved to find things like big eyes cute as a way to ensure early humans had a desire to take care of there offspring. As a result, we have a desire to care for other animals that also have a classically cute appearance.

However, this does not seem to be the real reason why we speak this way to puppies. According to Mathevon:

One of the hypotheses was that we humans use this dog-directed speech because we are sensitive to the baby cues that come from the face of a small baby [animal] as we are sensitive to the faces of our babies. But actually our study demonstrates that we use pet-directed speech or infant-directed speech not only because of that but maybe we use this kind of speech pattern when we want to engage and interact with a non-speaking listener. Maybe this speaking strategy is used in any context when we feel that the listener may not fully master the language or has difficulty to understand us.

So be sure to use a high pitched voice when you explain this to your pup tonight. Otherwise they might get confused.

Elon Musk Says Tesla's Solar Roofs Will Be Cheaper Than Ordinary Ones

If you’re an energy company right now, then you’re probably assembling a team of sleazy lawyers to try and come up with laws to halt the sale of Tesla’s solar roof tiles.

Why? Because they’re about to make solar energy affordable for every contractor and home owner in America.

Solar absorbing roof tiles won’t just provide homes with free energy, but they’re going to cost less than most ordinary roofs.

The electric energy giant’s founder and CEO, Elon Musk says that the solar roofs will have a longer life span than their regular counterparts, so it doesn’t make sense for building manufacturers to use other roofing tiles.

It’s worth noting that a lot of the energy saving doesn’t come in the manufacturing process of the roofs, but in shipping and handling.

Bloomberg speculates that when Tesla’s solar roofs become commercially available, the cost will be extremely high, as they are pricey to manufacture.

However, the benefit of the solar roofs are that they’re lighter and not as fragile as traditional roof tiles making the process of shipping them easier and exponentially cheaper.

Plus, there’s also the coolness and sexiness factor, which has been Musk’s concern with green and electric products from the beginning:

“The key is to make solar look good. We want you to call your neighbors over and say, ‘Check out this sweet roof.'”

The tempered glass roof tiles will be offered in four styles: Tuscan, Slate, Textured, and Smooth.

The solar energy picked up by the tiles can be used to directly power a home or even stored for later use in Tesla’s power wall battery or other solar power banks you’ve got in your home.

This Is Worse Than Any Pimple Popping Video You've Ever Seen Before

Welcome. If you’re reading this right now, then you’ve also spent hours upon hours on YouTube looking at everything from cyst and blackhead extractions to human bot fly and tapeworm removals. And you like it. I’m glad that’s the case.

You see, this video is pretty special. I’ve seen plenty of cyst extractions that have emptied out a peanut butter jar’s worth of hard pus and keratin from a person’s back. I’ve also seen people coat their mirrors in a layer of greasy discharge from a neck, jaw, or forehead pimple. It was always pretty neat to watch.

This one however, is a game changer. Suddenly, the violator is in a person’s mouth. He can feel it. He can taste it. Brandon wrote on Reddit that his tongue was in pain for a few days, and after finding the lump and seeing pus/mucus ooze out, he went to the dentist who ultimately told him that his salivary gland had a blockage and a salivary stone was forming.

When it was ripe for the picking, he did us a favor and recorded the removal for us to see. He pushes his tongue to the roof of his mouth and exerts some pressure. This is the result:

Gross.
