Trump Planted A Tree With The President Of France And It Got Weird Fast

In the opinion of some, Donald Trump can be an extremely awkward human being. This is especially on display when he hosts a world leader, and the two are thrust in front of a million cameras capturing the interactions.

It can be very, very awkward.

Like in this clip where he seems to be ignoring Angela Merkel’s suggestion of a handshake:

Or when he tries to hold his wife’s hand during a press event:

At the moment, Trump is being visited by French president Emmanuel Macron. It’s been interesting, to say the least.

And Macron is just smiling through it as best he can:

As a gift to mark his visit on Monday, Macron gave the Trumps an oak tree, which they then ceremoniously planted together on the lawn of the White House:

The pics from the event look…unique?

It was obviously memed immediately:

Some thought the tree was a symbolic troll from Macron, because of Trump’s decision to pull the United States out of the Paris Agreement.

There’s just a lot going on.

Soon you will be free to go home, Macron. Just grin and bear it.

Airbus Test Flight Spends Five Hours Drawing A Christmas Tree Over Germany

The holiday season is fast approaching, and to get us all in the mood, Airbus decided to give one of their test flight crews based in Hamburg, Germany, a pretty bizarre flight plan for their five hour test of an Airbus A380.

Why did the flight plan have them going in circles? Because they were drawing a Christmas tree, as this flight data from air traffic website Flight Radar shows…

And yes, they did add a tree topper. Which just happens to cover the length of neighboring Denmark.

One concern social media users seemed to have was the amount of carbon dioxide emitted drawing the tree.

Flight Radar explained that the flight is actually a test for the Airbus A380, so it would be up in the air even if it wasn’t drawing a Christmas tree.

They also shared the flight data from a similar test flight across the United States, where the route drew a plane.

In general, people on social media seemed to think it was pretty cool.

We All Knew This Day Was Coming–Starbucks Releases Christmas Tree Frappuccino

Last month, Starbucks released their new Christmas cups and were quickly met by outrage from people who seemed to think that the cup featured a lesbian couple holding hands. Yes, it was a pretty bizarre piece of outrage, but this is the Internet, after all.

In a less controversial move, Starbucks has announced that they’re adding a new item to their holiday menu  — the Christmas tree frappuccino.

But if you want to grab the latest item on the holiday menu, you’ll have to be quick, because the item is only available for five days. The frap will be available from the 7th, and is essentially a Peppermint Mocha Crème Frappuccino topped with Matcha whipped cream.

There’s also some crushed fruit and caramel on the top, to make it look a little like its namesake.

And as is usually the case, there’s already a bunch of photos on Instagram, in case you’re afraid the promotional shots are fluffed up.

Are you going to try one?

This Student Is Dressing Like A Christmas Tree For The Entire Semester

Kelsey Hall posted a photo of her wearing this adorably ridiculous Christmas tree outfit, complete with an indifferent expression about donning such a cheery garment.

With the photo, she penned a vow to wear the tree to all of her classes for the rest of the semester if it hit a thousand retweets.

And, at the time of writing, Hall’s original post hit over 4,600 RTs, so…yeah.

Hall wasn’t all that excited about keeping her promise.

She was out to dinner when she realized she had to put up or shut up, and her friend caught a snap of her incredulous face.

Again, she really, really didn’t want to go through with it.

But her adoring public egged her on…

…and Kelsey had no intention of ever backing out of the bet.

She ultimately pulled through, and there’s plenty of on-campus evidence to prove it.

A fact that she wants everyone to be aware of.

Students were ecstatic at the prospect of seeing Hall rocking her Christmas class outfit in person.

And, in the true spirit of Christmas, she made it happen.

This Woman Found A Snake Wrapped Around Her Christmas Tree Decorations

Although I never grew up decorating Christmas trees, there’s nothing like gazing upon a well-decorated one to put me in the Holiday spirit.

Every time I walk through a Target or Michael’s I look at all the ornaments and start planning an imaginary tree in my head. How would I decorate it? Would I go all avant-garde and make a black and white tree with white decorations? Or would I go classic and cut down my own to bring it inside and do it up in red and gold?

Or would I just put a highly venomous snake on it, just for kicks?

That’s what happened to Cheryl, a woman from Frankston, Australia, who found a slithering surprise in her Christmas tree.

The photo was posted by Barry Goldsmith on his Snake Catcher Victoria Australia Facebook Page.

In an interview with Mashable, Goldsmith said it was the first time he’s ever seen a snake in a Christmas tree and a Tiger Snake, no less.

The snake catcher went on to say that people panic when they see a snake and even try to kill it by cutting their heads off, which is super dangerous:

“I’m all about stopping people from trying to hurt themselves. Usually people cut the head off the snake, and don’t realise it that its head is actually still alive for about 15 minutes … lots of people get bitten while trying to pick up the severed head of the snake.”

You read that right, these things can live for 15 minutes after getting their heads cut off. People on Goldsmith’s FB page were shocked at the find.

The snake was unharmed and successfully transported out of the woman’s home. Looks like folks in Australia who celebrate Christmas with real trees have more to worry about than just bugs. (h/t mashable)
