Unsettling Footage Of Kidnapped Man Forced To Marry Despite Crying Emerges Online

Vinod Kumar attended a friend’s wedding and it turned into a nightmare. The  29-year-old Indian man was kidnapped at gunpoint and forced into a marriage with a woman he had never met. Kumar is seen on a video sobbing as he is forced to participate in the wedding.

A local news station reports the family of the “bride” can be heard on the video, saying:

We are only performing your wedding, not hanging you.

As shocking as this story seems, kidnapping men and forcing them into marriage is not as uncommon as one would think. In poor areas like western Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh, families cannot afford dowries.

In 2016 there were a reported 3,000 men kidnapped and forced into marriage.

These marriages, known as pakadua vivah, are often not annulled and the brides may also suffer while forced to live with a family and angry husband who resent their presence.

Police said Kumar was freed from the village where he was being held and they are investigating the kidnapping.

The video outraged people:

They were angry for both the man and the woman:

Cole Sprouse Sends His Twin Brother Unsettling And NSFW Christmas Gift—And Everyone Has Questions

Former Disney stars and current beloved social media favorites Dylan and Cole Sprouse grew up right before our eyes. They’re not Zack and Cody anymore, they’re big adults who give each other extremely adult gifts, apparently. And it’s a bit alarming.

On Thursday, Cole tweeted a text conversation he had with his twin, Dylan, about a Christmas gift from the former. Dylan seems more confused than mad, but Cole claims he didn’t appreciate this present.

It’s a bisected penis drawing.

Huh, that is what this is, isn’t it:

Very informative! Sort of threatening as well.

Naturally, folks have questions, though they’re not all about the anatomy lesson:

My question is, “Does the d*ck joke get more sophisticated when it’s anatomically correct?”

Astronauts Just Tweeted Photos Of California Wildfires From Space–And They're Unsettling

It’s hard to miss the news that huge swathes of Los Angeles and Ventura counties in California are currently on fire. Extreme winds have been blowing smoke and ash across residential areas, and hundreds of thousands of people have been evacuated. Footage of people driving down the 405 as the hills burn around them look like the freaking apocalypse.

If there is a group of people you’d guess are unaware of the natural disaster consuming the West Coast, it’d probably be astronauts. They’ve either got their eyes on the stars, or they’re floating around in space, so far from Earth and all her troubles.

Actually, it turns out they have a pretty unique perspective on what’s going on down here, because their cameras capture everything:

Astronauts and space stations all over the world are capturing images from the sky of how California looks right now, and it’s freaking scary. The streams of smoke are covering almost the entire city and more. The pictures will make you wonder how anyone is managing to survive down there:

Someone even tried to label all the neighborhoods, to give people a more specific idea of who was under all that ash and smoke:

Who knew this place looked even more frightening from far away.

Fast Company Reveals An Unsettling Truth About People Who Buy Cheap Salmon

Americans buying salmon from stores like Walmart may have subsidized the North Korean nuclear missile program.

An investigation reported by the Associated Press about seafood and the American consumer supporting “modern day slavery” is a hard one to swallow. Thousands of North Koreans are outsourced as cheap laborers, and their work brings in between $ 200 million to $ 500 million a year. Stores like Walmart and ALDI have potentially sold seafood packed  by those underpaid workers.

About 3,000 North Korean citizens were shipped off to Hunchun, China, where they are subjected to unimaginable working conditions in seafood packing plants. According to the report, the Hunchun laborers “sleep in metal bunks and work 72-hour weeks processing fish for as little as 46 cents  an hour, because Pyongyang keeps somewhere between half and 70 percent of their pay.”

The AP tracked over 2,000 tons of seafood from packing plants in China that  came into the U.S. just this year. Some of the products have trickled into American distribution through Walmart supplier, The Fishin’ Company; Rhode Island company, Sea Trek Enterprises; and ALDI’s  exclusive brand, Sea Queen. However, the AP said it would be difficult to determine the percentage of products from the Hunchun packing plant that made their way into the U.S.

So that piece of fish you just bought at Walmart may have helped Kim Jong-un’s nuclear agenda.

The president of the National Fisheries Institute, John Connelly, is trying to ensure that wages go to laborers, not dictators. He said:

While we understand that hiring North Korean workers may be legal in China, we are deeply concerned that any seafood companies could be inadvertently propping up the despotic regime.

Those who found the revelation less than appetizing expressed their concerns:
