This Woman's Tinder Profile Has People Arguing About Toilet Paper Rules

Dating can be rough. You gotta go through a lot of frogs to find your prince, and a lot of the frogs can be crappy at messaging on Tinder. They’ll send a bad message responding to your bio, your pictures, your musical taste. Any info they can get about you could inspire a stupid comment or rude question. But this is the price we pay for l’amour.

Writer Hana Michels shared her own issues with this system on Twitter, sharing an image of herself she’s had on Tinder. In it, she’s standing in the bathroom, brushing her teeth. In the background, a toilet paper roll is visible. According to Michels, in the past year she’s received 23 messages from men telling her she’s hanging her TP wrong.

Men, I ask you: why?

She further clarified that she also swipes on women, none of whom have had a thing to say about her toilet paper roll.

The thing is, people have opinions about toilet paper, and her tweet got a lot of responses:

TP can be divisive in the household:

Can a roommate relationship recover after toilet paper has split it asunder? Michels seems open to understanding another point of view, as long as it doesn’t come at her via Tinder.

And her view is not uncommon. Many agree that under is the way, the word, the truth:

There are actually lots of practical reasons for it:

But then came the naysayers, many of whom took umbrage with Michel’s assertion that only men sent her this message.

At least one person has been literally taking on the issue with their own two hands:

But there is actually an answer to this eternal debate.

The original toilet paper roll was patented in 1891 by New York businessman Seth Wheeler, according to the Huffington Post. According to Wheeler, the paper should go over:

This info was also submitted to the debate:

But the best answer in my opinion is this:

If you’re not paying for and stocking my TP, don’t talk to me about it. Especially before you even buy a girl a drink.

People Either Love Or Hate This Woman's Graduation Photo

Human beings are hypocritical animals.

I don’t really think I need to dig that deep to prove my point, but how many times have you lamented about not being in shape, while conveniently forgetting you had an entire sleeve of Oreos while binge watching Netflix the same night you were “too tired” to go to the gym.

Or we all have that one friend who’s always blaming their failed relationships on the other person when they refuse to acknowledge that they, themselves, are the one who’s insanely difficult to put up with.

And then there are situations which are simply puzzling:

“Women for Trump” has a lot of people confused, though plenty of women did actually vote for Trump in the election.

But that’s not what’s causing a kerfuffle about Spencer’s photos online. No, what got people’s feathers in a tizzy is the fact that she’s rocking a flat belly showing off the handle of a pistol tucked into the front of her white jeans.

Which ended up starting a conversation on the importance of preserving second amendment rights and the belief that all of us are free and the government’s not totally taking advantage of us because we’re able to buy guns at our local Walmart.

Some people loved Spencer’s photo.

Some Twitter users pointed to the clear racial double standard when people of color pose with weapons as opposed to when white, blonde women pose with them.

Spencer’s photo caught a lot of attention and even nabbed her an interview on Fox News where she explained that one of the main reasons she took the photo was to inspire women and let them know that they can be safe on a college campus.

Spencer’s post did inspire other women to share their own gun-rocking photos.

Some guys were calling it “real feminism.”

One Twitter user argued that there are very few people who want to “take guns away,” but that “gun sense” needs to be practiced.

Flaunting and sexualizing firearms might look cool, but should you do it?

Woman's Side By Side Photos Prove Clothing Sizes Are Meaningless

Women’s clothing sizes are ridiculous, and pretty much a roll of the dice. Men have it pretty easy, dealing with small, medium, or large, while women have varying measurements that don’t really seem to match up between different brands.

Instagram user Mira Hirsch, a body-positive activist from South Africa, knows this pain all too well. While shopping recently, she found two pairs of pants marked the same size, but which had very different results…

And people seem to agree, with the post attracting more than 3,500 likes in 24 hours. Commenters were very supportive:

Restaurant Ships Milkshake Across The Country For Dying Woman's Last Wish

Emily Pomeranz, 50, was recently moved to a hospice in Arlington, Virginia, after doctors diagnosed her with pancreatic cancer. And when her friend, Sam Klein, payed a visit, he found out that she had one last wish – to enjoy a mocha milkshake from Tommy’s Restaurant in Cleveland Heights, Ohio, where the two grew up together.

In a Facebook post that’s now gone viral, Klein explains the extraordinary lengths that the restaurant went to to try and get the milkshake the 375 miles it needed to travel without it melting.

After some research and help from his local UPS office, Fello figured out a way to make things work. Fello told Fox 8 Newsthat he put the milkshake on dry ice and paid $ 123 for overnight shipping. After, 370 miles the milkshake arrived as if it was just made.

Emily passed away soon after, but Klein says he’s happy that the restaurant worked so hard to grant her wish.

Woman's Ex Still Sends Loving Birthday Cards To Their Dog Every Year

Woman’s Ex Still Sends Loving Birthday Cards To Their Dog Every Year

I can’t imagine what it would be like to share custody of a child with an ex. I’m not saying that people shouldn’t ever get divorced or split up – as Louis C.K. said, no one’s ever left an amazing relationship just because. That would be horrible.

But I don’t know if I’d be a big enough person to put my pettiness and anger to the side in order to have a mature, separate relationship with my ex for the sake of our children.

Or if I had to share pets with them, either. Because pets are basically fluffier versions of children that you don’t have to start a college fund for, right?

Which is why I admire this girl’s ex so much.

Homeboy still gets their dog a birthday gift card, two years after they’ve broken up.

Just look at this awesomeness.

He even included a touching message in the card.

View post on imgur.com

“Hey Buddy,

Sorry for the late birthday gift. Work has been hectic. So I didn’t get a chance to get you something on time. Anyways, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! I hope you got spoiled on your special day. I also hope you’re doing well. Knowing you, I’m sure you haven’t slowed down and are just as much of a handful  now as you were when we first got you. Usually this is  the part where I tell you some story of how you got on my nerves like when you chewed up my credit card and then hid it. (I still have that card by the way) or how you did something incredibly adorable or funny like your first ever bath. But to be honest as precious as those memories are to me it’s the little thing I tend to think about the most.

Those times where me and you would just chill on the couch and watch TV. How you would be up every time I got up early in the morning to see me off to work. The play fights we would have together. Those pictures your mom would send me of that absolutely pathetic/adorable face you would make every time as you watched her leave for work. These are the things I will remember the most.

Watching you grow up from a puppy that fit in the palm of my hand to the overgrown big dog that you are now was nothing short of an adventure, and I loved every moment of it. There is honestly not one time where thinking of you has failed to put a smile on my face. I will forever be great grateful to you for that. Thank you. I wasn’t able to get you something for Christmas so I added a little extra to your card. Try not to destroy your new toys too quickly 🙂 I love you, Buddy. There isn’t a day that I don’t think of you. As always, continue to take care of yourself and your mom.

Continue to be  there for her like you were for me.

I miss you Buddy. See you when I see you.

Love, Dad.”

The touching gesture understandably got some serious love from Twitter.

Petco even reached out.

Apollo seems to be digging his adoration as well.

Such a good boy.

Internet Bands Together To Find Woman's 147-Year-Old Wedding Dress

Tess Newall, a bride from Edinburgh, Scotland, got married in June wearing the same gown every woman in her family has worn since her great-great-grandmother. Even cooler? Her great-great-grandmother made it herself way back in 1870.

Some time later, the newlywed took the 147-year-old dress to Kleen Cleaners for a specialty dry clean. But soon after, the store fell into liquidation and Newall was told by administrators Wylie & Bisset that her dress had been lost in the process.

Distressed, Newall took to Facebook in the hopes that someone might recognize the family heirloom. Her post quickly acquired more than 300,000 shares and 43,000 comments.

She wrote in full:

I have just found out that the dry cleaners have lost my much loved wedding dress. It was made by my Great Great Granny in 1870 (I altered the top) and I wore it in June 2016. Kleen Cleaners in Edinburgh used to be the best but recently fell into crooked hands and have gone into liquidation. It seems that the dress was taken to be sold so it could be winging its way anywhere. Please share this far and wide in case anyone stumbles across it! I realise there are far greater issues in the world but it means the world to us. More family memories need to be woven into its threads.

Thank you so so much.

Love Tess x</span>

Somehow, the post made its way onto the Facebook feed of the person who now owns the building. He checked what was behind by the previous administrators and found “a crumpled heap of antique lace on the floor.”

The owner let Newall&apos;s parents into the shop, where they found that it was the dress they&apos;d been looking for. Newall updated her post to thank everyone for sharing the post.

Despite this letter received today saying..

“it appears that your dress was NOT located with the wedding dresses within the store and as such was DISPOSED OF when the premises were cleared”

..We received a phone call from the very kind landlord of the shop property who had read about it through this amazing response. He checked what was left by the administrators Wylie & Bisset and found a crumpled heap of antique lace on the floor. My mum and dad have just been let into the shop and to their amazement and joy it is our dress! (Still with our ticket attached, but not even cleaned)</span>

But they still have one hurdle left: Actually retrieving the dress and taking it home.

Frustratingly – a representative of Wylie & Bisset who showed up after weeks of ignoring our pleas to let us in insisted that for “procedural reasons” he must take it back to his office in Glasgow, but assure us it will be delivered safely back to us on Monday.

My family can&apos;t thank you all enough for creating this frenzy which allowed us into the shop before it was too late, and are over the moon to be *almost* reunited with Dora&apos;s dress</span>

Still, Facebook commenters were ecstatic at the news. “So very pleased for you,” one user wrote. “Nice to have a happy ending for a change.” The power of the Internet never ceases to amaze.

A Total Stranger Paid For This Woman's Christmas Shopping When Her Card Was Declined

Zara Chowdhury from Manchester in the United Kingdom was shopping at LUSH recently when she got to the checkout and her card was declined. After waiting ten minutes, the cashier tried the card again and it was declined for a second time.

Chowdhury asked the cashier to keep her basket behind the counter while she ran to an ATM to take cash out. But when she came back, she was shocked to find that someone had paid for her items, at the cost of £43 ($ 52.)

Woman's Frustrated Facebook Post Shows A Huge Problem With Clothing Sizes

Finding clothes to fit my ample hips, as a man, is a very trying endeavor. I don’t know why genetics gave me this issue, or why I grew up undervaluing the importance of having well-developed enough hamstrings to make strengthening my lower body even easier when I’m holder but here we are. I’ve got an on and off rickety left leg and hips that are much too wide.

But as bad as my clothing woes are, I know they pale in comparison to what women face on a regular basis while shopping for clothes.

A problem that’s only compounded by a slew of body image issues perpetuated by media and advertising at large. But this woman discovered that on top of all these body image issues, clothing manufacturers have done something that really mess women up.

And that’s a complete lack of size consistency.

Deena Shoemaker wrote about the “bone to pick” she has with designers and clothes manufacturers who decide to constantly change what a size “4” or “12” is, depending on the garment or who made the clothes.

No I’m not selling my pants; I’ve just got a bone to pick.

I’ve worked with teen & pre-teen girls as a leader and counselor in various places for the last 6 years. I’ve listened to countless girls tell me about their new diets and weight loss fads. I’ve have girls sob in my arms and ask me, “if I were skinnier, would he have stayed?” I’ve counseled girls who were skipping meals. I’ve caught some throwing up everything they’ve just eaten.

But as I was going through my clothes tonight I started to notice how dramatically different the size of all my pants were. And I have a real problem with the fact that my size 5 pants fit me THE EXACT SAME WAY that my size 12 pants do.

She says that the lack of consistency is making people think they’re rapidly losing or gaining weight and isn’t helping them with their personal body goals.

Let me explain why I’m not happy, America. You photoshop models and actresses and slap them on the front of beauty magazines. At this point it’s a pretty universally known truth that you’re lying to us and those aren’t accurate portrayals of the human body. I can prove it to girls pretty easily by simply showing them how photoshop works.

But when you resize a girl’s pants from a 9 to a 16 and label it “plus size,” how am I supposed to fight that? Photo manipulation is one thing but how do you expect me to convince her that the number printed inside her clothes is a lie too? How do you expect me to convince her that she doesn’t need to skip dinner for the next month because her pant size didn’t *actually* go up by seven digits?

STOP telling my girls that a size 4 is the “ideal body size” and the “epitome of beauty” if you’re going to change a size 4 into an 8 or a 12 or whatever number you feel like on any given day.

And to you; my dear beautiful girls, my size 2 girls or my size 18 girls, your size doesn’t determine your beauty; your life does. The size printed inside your clothes is subjective to the fashion industry’s personal taste and it fluctuates rapidly. Stop believing the social normatives about who and what you should be.

You are lovely and you are loved.
Just exactly the way you are.

And people couldn’t be happier with her message. Her post has been shared over 73,000 times with more than 3,000 comments.

Wine Addicts Are In Love With This Woman's Simple Fridge Hack That Dispenses Chilled Wine

I’m not the biggest fan of wine. It could be the fact that it tastes like Kedem grape juice that’s been left out in the sun and/or liquified wood, or that I just don’t appreciate the finer things in life. I’m willing to admit to either of those as long as I don’t have to drink the stuff.

However, as much as I dislike a cup of vino, I can admit genius when I see it.

Even if the genius is wine-related.

Like this 28-year-old woman who found a simple way to “hack” her fridge so that it dispenses wine instead of water.

Screen Shot 2016-12-12 at 5.55.56 PM
twitter

It all started when Clare and her boyfriend bought a house together and then outfitted it with a brand-spanking-new fridge.

Screen Shot 2016-12-12 at 5.58.14 PM
twitter

When speaking with BuzzFeed, Clare said that she suggested putting the wine in the water dispenser filter and the wine came out nice and cold. It didn’t affect the flavor or alter the wine in any way. Clare admitted that they went through the wine fairly quickly and then washed out the dispenser and filled it with water.

But that hasn’t stopped people from praising the simple yet brilliant move.

It didn’t stop some wine connoisseurs from being absolutely appalled by Clare’s innovation.

But it’s safe to say that there are more than few people out there who will definitely try it on their own fridges.

Now hook my GE up with some lean and then we’ll talk.

This Woman's Selfie Of A Ghost In Her Car Has Us Pretty Freaked Out

We’re plenty skeptical about the paranormal — most people’s photos and theories sound like a load of bullsh*t. But that doesn’t mean we don’t get rattled by something eerie every once in a while. Sure, there are coincidences and weird things that just can’t be explained, but sometimes, we can’t shake the feeling that else is going on.

That’s definitely the case with Melissa Kurtz, a mother of two from Florida who found a ghost boy sitting in the backseat of her car — maybe with a purpose in mind.

Kurtz’s daughter, Harper, took this (totally normal) selfie in the passenger seat of the car. But the photo she took just seconds later was anything but normal.

Not seeing it? Look closer:

Screen Shot 2016-11-15 at 5.19.26 PM
facebook

Yes, that would be a little ghost boy in the backseat of the car, leaning against the back window.

Kurtz didn’t even notice the unexpected visitor in the photo until she was going through photos on her camera a month later. “It was a real ‘Oh my god’ moment,” Kurtz told The Daily Mail. “I was really shocked by it, incredibly shocked. I ran into the other room and said to friends who were staying with me ‘you have to see this.’ Everyone was awestruck.”

Kurtz believes the little ghost showed up to warn Harper to wear her seatbelt.

“[Wearing her seatbelt] is something I yell at her about all the time,” Kurtz told The Daily Mail. “I’ve had 13 traffic tickets in two years due to her not wearing one. She is very stubborn though – I’m always trying to catch her when she hasn’t got it on.”

Paranormal experts, if you will, have weighed in on the photo.

ghostbusters
columbia pictures

According to The Daily Mail, Greg Pochadirector of parapsychology, afterlife and paranormal studies at Eidolon Project Canada, believes that the ghost was indeed warning Harper about the seatbelt. Apparently, this kind of analysis of paranormal motive is called spectral profiling.

Here’s where things get really spooky.

The location where the photo was taken has a tragic past. “Where the picture was taken there was an automobile accident one year ago exactly,” Kurtz said. “When I looked into it, someone had been medevaced away in a helicopter. However, they would not tell me any specific details when I enquired, which leads me to believe that it was a child.”

And, according to Pocha, this would explain why the ghost boy was still there. “Ghosts such as the boy are prone to remain earthbound when the soul is literally ripped or thrown from the body in an accident,” he said. “Chances are that he does not know that he has died. And chances are good that he will haunt this part of the highway forever.”

We’re still not sure we believe in the paranormal, but you can but we’re not sleeping again for a while. (h/t daily mail)
